Culpepper, McKinnie, Smoot on cruise
prostitutes flown in from Atlanta

Star Tribune

Quarterback Daunte Culpepper, offensive tackle Bryant McKinnie and cornerback Fred Smoot are on a list of Minnesota Vikings football players whom investigators are interested in questioning about a sex party on charter boats on Lake Minnetonka, a source with direct knowledge of the investigation said Friday.

The list, which has been given to investigators and Vikings team officials by the charter boat company, names 17 players whom crew members identified as passengers on the boats during an Oct. 6 outing. Some players on the list allegedly participated in sex acts. The list also includes players who apologized for the behavior of some teammates and who tried to protect the charter boat employees.

Authorities were trying to determine how many players on the list they should interview as witnesses or potential participants in lewd behavior. It was unclear how many other passengers were also of interest to investigators.

Culpepper declined to comment when asked this week what he knew of the cruise. McKinnie told reporters to "get over it." Smoot has repeatedly denied that he organized the party. A Vikings team spokesman had no comment Friday about the list.

The list of players is based on the recollections of crew members. After the Star Tribune obtained the names on the list, the newspaper attempted to contact all of the players and was able to reach 13. Most declined to comment.

One player on the list, running back Mewelde Moore, confirmed he was on a boat but said he didn't see any sexual activity.

The list also includes: All-Pro defensive tackle Kevin Williams, tight end Jermaine Wiggins; running back Moe Williams; wide receivers Nate Burleson, Troy Williamson, Travis Taylor and Koren Robinson; cornerback Ralph Brown, and safety Darren Sharper.

At least 90 people took the excursion on two yachts chartered from Al & Alma's Supper Club and Charter Cruises in Mound. Before the boat rides, Smoot came to the charter company in person to work out details for the party and put money down, the company's attorney Stephen Doyle has said.

Both boats returned to shore 40 minutes into the 3½-hour cruise after crew members grew alarmed by the sexual activity, Doyle said. Crew members later reported the episode to police.

Crew members reported that some players allegedly engaged in public sex acts, drank heavily and propositioned female crew members. The sex was apparently consensual, and some was photographed as passengers watched and cheered, Doyle said.

The list turned over to investigators does not include every Vikings player who attended the boat parties. Doyle has said at least 20 players were aboard, but not all were identified by the crew. It is unclear which of the 17 engaged in lewd behavior and which ones aided the crew and apologized for the others.

Visitors from out of state?

In another development, two sources with direct knowledge of the investigation said that crew members have told authorities that several women who had sex with the players on the boats said that they had been flown in from out of state for the party. Both sources said that some of the women reportedly said they had arrived from Atlanta and that authorities would be checking that tip.

One of the sources said that if the women participated in organized prostitution on the boat after crossing state lines, it could be a felony under federal law.

"Somebody here was brokering these females, but we can't yet say they were brought in by the Vikings team or whomever," the source said. "It would take the investigation to a higher level, yes. There's some organization to it - the crew overheard them [women] saying they were from out of town. The Atlanta connection with these females has been overheard by the crew."

At least 20 women were reported to have engaged in lewd behavior on the boats, the source said. The source said that federal authorities had not yet been contacted because that was still developing. Minneapolis FBI agent Paul McCabe said Friday that his agency had not yet been contacted by local investigators.

The women may have checked into an Eden Prairie hotel and then eaten at the nearby Naar Grille prior to going aboard the boats last week.

A customer at the restaurant, speaking on the condition that his name not be used, said that a woman in her early 20s who called herself Ebony said she and a group of about 12 to 15 women had just flown in from Atlanta and Houston. The customer said that the women were eating at the restaurant and staying at the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott.

He said the woman said that her group was in town to attend a party scheduled to begin at midnight at "some mansion" where a Vikings player lived. The woman did not mention a boat party.er at the restaurant, speaking on the condition that his name not be used, said that a woman in her early 20s who called herself Ebony said she and a group of about 12 to 15 women had just flown in from Atlanta and Houston. This just gets juicier and jucier.

Wow. These guys dont play around. Lets fly in some prostitutes, invite all the boys and go on a cruise. This took some serious planning for an NFL player, which the average NFL player has rocks in his head.

Just seems odd to have a cruise in the middle of the season, bye week or not....

I just can't see a Bill Walsh coached team doing something like this, or Landry or Shula.....society gone wild.

LMAO

I just cant get over the fact they had girls FLOWN IN. This involves hookers taking their shoes off at the airport and everything. They are sitting on a plane looking out a window and thinking about the fact the sole purpose of this is to give Daunte Culpepper and Fred Smoot head on a cruise ship soon after arrival, and then it's time to go back home.

Hi everyone. For those of you who don't know me it's nice to meet you as I am new to the forum.

I have interveiwed a few Minnesota Vikings players in my day. One of the listed above was Kevin Williams. He was probably one of the worst NFL player interviews I ever did. Didn't seem to have much going up there. Regardless of the situation I have talked to dozens of black NFL players and have thought more than half had more to say when talking to me about the things I asked and many of them knew they had to work harder or they might be off their team. When I talked to Kevin Williams I thought he either just didn't care, thought giving short answers was enough, or that's all he was really thinking or didn't want to elaborate further. Below is the interview from last year. I tried so hard to make this one better than it really was.

As far as the matter goes does Daune Culpepper have a handful of children and numerous mothers to his kids?

I mean do it in the private of your own home is all I am gonna say.

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams in only his second year was named NFC Week 12 Defensive Player Of The Week. His November 28, 2004 performance on defense against the Jacksonville Jaguars earned him the honor. In only his second season he is sure to be a force to be reckoned with at the defensive tackle position in years to come.

First off how are you?

"I am doing good."

What does it feel like to be the NFC Week 12 Defensive Player Of The Week?

"It's a great honor for our defense. As far as myself I am just taking it in stride."

You had three tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown in the 27-16 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars to earn you the honors in this 2004 NFL week 12 season. What are your thoughts on your defensive performance and getting your first defensive touchdown?

"I am just trying to make plays. The quarterback got sacked, the ball came out, and I ended up scoring my first touchdown."

You started all 16 regular season games in 2003 your rookie season and led the team in sacks. What did it feel like as a rookie to lead the team in sacks as a rookie and be a leader on defense?

"Like I said I just want to compete. I know they brought me in as the top pick last season. I had no idea I was going to start on defense."

You were selected in the first round 9th overall in the 2003 NFL draft. What was going through your mind when you knew you were going to be headed to the Minnesota Vikings?

"I don't know. I didn't really think about it till they picked me. I figured and realized that it was going to be real cold."

At the time of this interview the Minnesota Vikings are currently 7-4 and tied for first in the NFC North. What do you think this team's chances are to win the division or at least make it to the playoffs?

"Our chances are real high. If we win the game this Sunday against Chicago and a game against the Green Bay Packers on Christmas Eve, then we have a chance to get back to the top of our division. We can break the tie with Green Bay and get into the playoffs at the end of the regular season."

You guys were one play away from making the NFC playoffs last year in 2003. What do you think has been learned by the players on this team from last year's experience so you don't slip and miss the NFC playoffs again?

"We started the season 6-0 and we didn't make the playoffs. We are doing great right now, but we can always do better. We are working to get better and see how the playoffs treat us."

What are your thoughts on Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice and what you have learned from him?

"He is a teacher. He teaches us about everything. He is a great coach. I am glad to have him as my coach for the first two years of my NFL career."

What are your thoughts on offensive leaders Daunte Culpepper and Randy Moss and how they have helped lead the offensive side of the football?

"They're not only great vocal leaders, but they lead by action. They bring a lot of emotion to this team. They are good leaders, but really get it done on the field."

What do you remember from your college days at the Oklahoma State University?

"We beat Oklahoma three of my four years playing in college. That was pretty good down there as we got back to winning ways. With my class when I got ready to leave made their third straight bowl game."

What was it like playing in the Big 12th conference against Oklahoma, Texas, and all those other schools year in and year out?

"I think that was one of the top conferences in the country. You got to play against some really good players. There have been a lot of first round picks in the NFL from the conference."

Finally, what do you want to accomplish the rest of your NFL career?

"Just getting better and becoming maybe an NFL Pro Bowl Player. An elite player in the league and to be reckoned with."

Culpepper hated the way eagle fans treated his wife after the vikes playoff loss last season. I bet she really appreciates hearing about Daunte and his Love boat trip:lolBIG:

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) _ Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper wasn't too happy about the way the Philadelphia Eagles treated treated his wife. He and some other Vikings say some Eagles fans harassed their relatives as they watched their loved ones lose at Lincoln Financial Field. Culpepper said he doesn't mind fans booing but says he draws the line at "throwing stuff and spitting on people.'' And he says if he had been in the stands to see what happened, "somebody definitely would've gotten hurt.''

they flew the girls in because you don't want to screw around with local talent...they tend to get a little clingy and if you don't want your wife or gf to find out about your extra-curriculars, this is the way to go.

many pro athletes have girls in each city they visit, especially NBA and MLB where there is downtime.

flying girls in is standard practice....
