That was ridiculous...completely changes the game.

Instead of 1st and 2nd and having to pitch to Pujols, they get out of the inning and not give Pujols anything to hit leading off the inning.

There is no way that could have been a called strike OR a swing.

I hate it when umpires/referees change the outcome of games.

on replay; it looked to me like the bat did go past the batter; although the hitter was not trying to swing; kinda like the ball hitting a bat when a player is just trying to keep from getting hit; it was not strike 3; the count was full ; just laff it off ; and get back in the batter's box; although the call was marginal; i do not think it should be overturned upon review..

huge strike zone and very inconsistant...but most questionable calls were very hittable, cards are not SWINGING the bat, they want to walk ppl aboard instead of unleashing the mighty offense....i am stumped!!

worst umpiring since Don Denkinger

That ump called Edmonds out on the pitch not the check swing and then threw him out in an LCS with a 3-2 count in a 1 run game, the worst most unprofessional umping I have ever seen, amazing these idiots with inferiority complexes take such a huge roll in a game, but what do you expect from a league run by an idiot like Selig, it is such a shame these loser umps think they are bigger than the game. The umping in that game was so one sided even the radio announcers commented that every border line call went the Astros way. It was the way for the umps to pay LaRussa back for making a comment that he hoped the home plate ump wouldn't be affected by the emotion of Clemens in the LCS in the previous game. Primadonna bastards, how many games are they going to RUIN this season????????????

It's nothing new. Phil Cuzzi is the 4th worst umpire in the game today, along with Marsh, Bucknor, and Hernandez. A bunch of fuckups who couldn't umpire high school ball. I realize the system used to be a joke, and they are tenured now, but that doesn't mean you have to give them postseason games! They would have never made it to the minors under today's system. The umpiring will get better someday, once these retards that snuck in have retired.

That call was complete bullshit. No other way to put it. Edmonds didn't come close to swinging at it. A swing was never even considered. He called that pitch a strike, and it was nowhere near the strike zone. A fucking joke of a call. I realize Edmonds must have said something personal, like "you're horseshit," and when you say personal things, you get tossed. But he is horseshit, and Edmonds was just telling the truth, while in a state of shock, like everyone else watching the game.
