That was ridiculous...completely changes the game.

Instead of 1st and 2nd and having to pitch to Pujols, they get out of the inning and not give Pujols anything to hit leading off the inning.

There is no way that could have been a called strike OR a swing.

I hate it when umpires/referees change the outcome of games.

even though those calls were atrocious, as was throwing out edmunds, you have to admit, the cards are the choke artists of the 21st century. first they get swept by a "cursed" red sox team, now they're doing everything in their power to give this game to houston, so they'll have to sweep pettitte, oswalt, and clemons to advance to the world series.

I agree they are post season baginas...:toast:

But let them lose it on the field...not with BS calls. I certainly as a fan would much rather see Pujols up in a game deciding at bat than an ump making a terrible call changing the entire game.

agree with the bad calls, but talk about a "choke" team, 1st and 3rd with nobody out and couldn't score.

I'd say having 1st and 3rd no outs and not scoring counts as "losing it in the field." For christ sakes Cards... get a big hit!!!

Umpiring in this years playoffs has been horrible. Edmunds gets tossed after that jackass blows the call. Unreal.

I'm not blaming the umpire for the loss. Simply venting, because Phil Cuzzi is a horseshit umpire, and it sucks to watch a game where the umpire misses 3 pitches per inning, for both teams. He is so bad, get him the hell out. Him, Randy Marsh, Angel Hernandez, and CB Bucknor have no business umpiring Div 3 College games. Pure horseshit. If they came up through the ranks in today's system, they would have never made it to rookie ball, and that's fact. Fuck them.

That ump called Edmonds out on the pitch not the check swing and then threw him out in an LCS with a 3-2 count in a 1 run game, the worst most unprofessional umping I have ever seen, amazing these idiots with inferiority complexes take such a huge roll in a game, but what do you expect from a league run by an idiot like Selig, it is such a shame these loser umps think they are bigger than the game. The umping in that game was so one sided even the radio announcers commented that every border line call went the Astros way. It was the way for the umps to pay LaRussa back for making a comment that he hoped the home plate ump wouldn't be affected by the emotion of Clemens in the LCS in the previous game. Primadonna bastards, how many games are they going to RUIN this season????????????
<!-- / message -->Horseshit umpires, how many times has this happened this year??? Hell Don Denkinger gave the Royals the series in 1985, the Sox were given a game this year. Something has to give sometime with these idiot umpires, this is the freaking LCS throwing a guy out on a pitch that ALMOST HIT HIM????

Shocker...A thread full of Cardinal bettors teed off at the home plate ump.

Based on my own experience as an umpire at mens amatuer level, I'd bet a buck or two that dude said exactly to Edmonds, "Chill out, I called a strike, let's play"

He pointed right to the batters box, which suggests he said, "Get back in there and shut up."

Edmonds has been playing long enough to know that you can argue with an ump on any decision except balls/strikes. And you definitely don't get right up in his face on a ball/strike call and drop an MF bomb.

Edmonds blew the situation by losing his head.

Edmonds probably deserved to get tossed. I'm sure he crossed the line, and you can't really make exceptions when someone gets personal, so I agree with you there. I'm a Cardinals fan, but I was really just venting, because this umpire makes it painful to watch a game. He is so bad, it's laughable. From the first pitch today, for both teams, not just the Cardinals, he made a mockery of the game. But he's always like that, every game, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised. Flip a fucking coin....heads is a ball, tails is a strike.

The other 5 umps should have tossed the home plate ump for making such a terrible call in such a key situation.

How can anyone who is normal not blow his cool in a situation like that ? Pure stupidity by the Ump and I hope He loses his job ! It isn't even fun watching a game when a little league Ump could have done better. !
