All the murdering, raping, robbing, carjacking and etc.. I was seriously thinking about moving to another country or realistically another state because I don't want my kids to grow up around this shit. Even though we don't live in the "crime" zones, it's close enough to were it's a cause for concern. I don't blame the media because the facts are the facts and they are just reporting what's known. I'm not even looking to cast blame but we as a country need to get our shit together. The crap only seems to be getting worse. I know the obvious finger would point towards the inner city and the crime they spread outward but it's bigger than that IMO.

What's your thoughts on this?

I've been doing my research but any suggestions on places in the States to live that is not rural, that has a diverse population, professional salaries mesh with the cost of living and that isn't riddle with crime (I'm realistic I don't expect a place to have zero crime) in & around its area? I was looking at Charlotte at the beginning of the year but so far that's all I can come up with.

The more poverty you have, the more crime you get.

Deep seeded economic and racial divisions. Americans in general, are not on the same team. There is so much chaos in large cities it is almost unbelievable.

The hurricane tragedy in New Orleans showed a lot of the resentments we have for one another. The recent attack on the Toledo, Ohio police department. There are thousands of unreported daily attacks and incidents.

As a teen I felt we could get past it all. Now 20 years later I honestly think this country is going to implode. The divisions are getting deeper and more widespread.

I have been fortunate enough to travel to quite a few other countries. I noticed that people in general seem happier and more social than Americans. Some of the poorest nations I have been in seem to have the happiest populations.

It's really scary that most of our big cities have more homicides on an annual basis than entire nations. IE, Chicago has more yearly homicides than Australia and New Zealand combined .... :sad3:

As for a large safe US City, you can "google it" and find the one with the lowest crime rate. I suspect it would be in an upscale area bordering a large city, i.e. Scottsdale, AZ or somewhere near Seattle, WA or Salt Lake City, UT.

Lately it seems like America is trying to catch up with Colombia. :sad3:

WASHINGTON - The nation's murder rate declined last year for the first time in four years, dropping to the lowest level in 40 years.

Isn't the average age higher than at any point in history? Old folks don't go for murder, they go for good deals on the early buffets

Ironic, just got off the phone with my family and found out my younger cousin was just murdered over the weekend. This breaks my heart because I was mentoring him and saw the wrong path he was going down. Really don't know what to say at this point. Take care fellas.

Where do you guys live? I live in NY and i feel completely safe. As long as you raise your kids to hang with the right crowd and avoid hardcore drugs there really isnt much to worry about.

The problem most people have is that they watch the evening news which only shows the bad and overblows the problems in the world. You won't see a news report about NOTHING happening in Johnstown, wyoming.

Thanks for saving me the trouble.

Care to revise your typical bullshît assertion?

Even better yet, care to answer any of the questions/concerns I've raised about your bizarre support for the hell-on-earth Norwegian plan? I've only posted them in like five or six threads on which you've come and dropped the N-bomb.
