Houston +130

Even IF they lose tonight at home, they will be + money again for game 6 and/or 7 with Oswalt and Clemens going. But I think they end it tonight with Pettitte and all his post-season wins going against Carpenter, who despite a great year has never pitched in a game with this much on the line. I know they beat Houston's big 3 earlier this year but that was this summer when St. Lou could do no wrong, this is now - Cards are losing the mental game plus not getting any close calls from the umps and we see that does NOT 'even out' (ask the Angels)

Good pitching beats good hitting, and the Cards aren't hitting. No Rolen this year, Sanders and Walker banged up. How are they still favored? OK, Carpenter is 5-0 vs Houston this year. And they won 100 games this year - Chicago won 99 and they were given no credit down the stretch because their lead against Cleveland shrunk. Cards are a lot closer to losing to a team they had a 15 game lead on then the Sox ever got. I don't know why St. Louis seems to be getting a pass on their recent struggles plus they got no resistence from the Padres in round 1.

LaRussa has a history of passing his anxiety onto his team and if you think the Cards can't lose 4 in a row to Houston, I ask you look at last year's Worlds Series where they got swept by Boston - another team who had a long history of losing in the playoffs.

I suffered through Hoston's two brutal NLCS losses in the '80s so I hope I don't jinx them but I am taking Houston tonight to finally get to the WS and have another LaRussa team end their year in disappointment
