OT - Computer question....

I have a computer I am trying to set up for the kids....the monitor has a cable that runs into the computer to make it work....it is orange and you twist it in to secure into the computer....a couple of the prongs broke though and it wont stay....problem is, the wire comes directly out of the monitor....what can I do, short of buying a new monitor...? Any help is GREATLY appreciated...thanx....

That's a hard one to resolve, because it sounds like, from what your saying the cable is part of the Monitor.

Please don't open the Monitor, since it's on of the most dangerous part of the PC. You probably already know that. Good luck

Sherm, you could take it to (or call) a couple local computer places to see if they can put a new cable end on it, but a repair like that probably isn't something they do often, so you may be out of luck.

Sorry-I know that isn't the answer that you wanted to hear.

You should be able to get the adaptor piece replaced. Can't be that much if you take it to a computer repair shop. They just have to cut the wire and put another one on.
