A lottery mentality is clearly pervasive when you hear the discussions in the sports books on any given Sunday. It seems that half the conversations feature some ‘square’ bettor saying that he was near perfect on a six-team parlay, but that a stupid interception killed him.

The parlay card mentality is nothing new, I remember the same sorry conversations 35 years ago around Vegas books. "Can you believe my luck? I had 6 out of 7 winners on my parlay card this week"..

Great headline for this story.

It's definitely a Lottery mentality. Though if you truly are a state lottery investor, you're going to a lot better with sports parlays...heh
