Hilo Boy- I've always liked horse racing. Not to bet, but I've always loved going to the track. It's a great way to spend a day. I would have written in John Henry but I didn't have to. You already had him on your list. And deservedly so. He was something else. He won the Arlington Million on the grass and then the Jockey Club Gold Cup on the dirt.

John Henry is one of the greatest race horses of all time.

I was at Arlington both times John Henry won Arlington Million. Very good horse with huge heart. Wasn't very well bred and was Gelded. His father was Old Bob Bowers. Ever hear of him as a sire. John Henry wasn't anywhere as good as some of the great ones, especially when it comes to dirt racing. Also a little footnote. The owner of Arlington Park Richard Duchsousous better know as Dirty Dick is a bigtime Asswipe, liar and cheat. Stay away from Arlington Park, you'll be a lot better off. Dirty Dick dosen't deserve anyone's patronage!

Was a great finnish that has added to the legend of John Henry. I had about $50 to win on Henry that day. I was only about 17 or 18 years old at the time. I was betting horses at Arlington when I was 15-16 years old. Around 1980. I was pulled into security a couple times for underage betting. Legal betting age is 18. Again I like to announce that Dick Duchossouis is an ASS ***.

Secretariat..by several lengths.

Write in Cigar as well, never saw people so captivated by a horse in person than him.

Before the Arlington Million won by John Henry, I owned a share of a horse named Caterman who had just come off beating John Henry in the Sunset Handicap and was prepping for the big race at Del Mar. Unfortunately, he fractured his leg a week before the Million.

I am old enough to have seen almost all the horses listed, and my vote would go to Secretariat. He could move to the lead at will any time from anywhere and take command when asked whether dirt or turf. He still holds the record for both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes and only because of a questionable clock at Pimlico during the Preakness, does he not hold that record as well.

John Henry, Forego and Affirmed were all heart. The first two carried tremendous weight assignments no longer used in the United States. Affirmed would look you in the eye and not let you pass.

Seattle Slew and Spectacular Bid had speed to spare. Ill fated Ruffian grabbed your heart and went to her grave in a match race with Foolish Pleasure that should have never been run. Tragic. Buried at Belmont. Easy Goer was very good but is not in the class of the others above. As was Ack Ack.

Man O' War, the original Big Red, I never saw but history indicates he may have been close to as good as Secretariat.

Hilo:

Dr. Fager another speed burner, but the measure of the greatest is winning the classic distances in my opinion. Ferdinand, Alysheba once again very good horses but not in the class of Secretariat. Complete ignorance on my part with regard to Dark Mirage.

None of the above. It's Cigar.

They took Cigar everywhere in the US and even once over to Dubai. He beat anyone, anywhere despite the grueling schedule throughout the 16 race winning streak. And even when the streak was over, he was still finishing in the money.

Cigar. Couldn't make babies. Don't think Cigar had very tough competition.

What aboout Kelso, even this year Afleet Alex win in Preakness and Belmont were very impressive.
