it's actually 7-3 but the way officiating is going these days, they might have given them one point!

They scored a "Rouge". One point for punting the ball out of the end zone.

I understand that there is 3 ways to score a PAT. And I don't mean running, passing and kicking.

1.You can kick the xtra point

2. You can go for a two point conversion

OR? Anyone know the third way?

The other team can block a kick or return a fumble/int and go the other way.

Actually the way I heard it was that if the kicking team that was kicking the extra point, turned around and ran the 98 yards to the other teams goal, it scores a point! Strange rule! Anyway to verify it in the rule book?

Here is the rule about scoring one point in college football. You need not kick the ball to score one point.

ARTICLE 2

1. One a 2 point try attempt, B2 adds new impetus to a team A fumble that is recovered in the team B end zone by team B.RULING 1-point safety.

2. On a 2 point conversion attempt, B2 kicks a TEAM A fumble into the team B endzone and team B recovers. RULING: One point safety or the option of accepting the penalty from the basic spot for illegally kicking the ball

Yes you can MOST certainly get 1 point in college football via a safety

I was referring to NFL extra points here is the drop kick rule

The dropkick remains a legal maneuver in the National Football League today. Although the dropkick has not been successfully converted on an NFL gridiron in decades, mention of it still exists in the NFL's official rule book. Rule 3, Section 8 defines the dropkick as, "a kick by a kicker who drops the ball and kicks it as, or immediately after, it touches the ground."
The Dropkick

The drop kick was the standard way of doing it years ago. Back in the 30s and before. Back then the shape of the football was rounder. When the new sleeker football was introduced because of the forward pass the dropkick was no longer an easy kick to make as the pointy fb didnt bounce the same.

I knew that about the football size in fact a forward pass was not used often when football first started, just funny that the drop kick rule is still on the books.

They kick that one pointer all the time in Canadian....

Just last night Winnipeg kicked a single after being down 31 points....lost 41-1 but I'm sure they're glad they got that point.

They could have lost by 41 points.:heh:
