We get two NFL games today.
Washington vs SF
Baltimore vs Chicago (not in HD even)

Nothing else, I can't even look forward to a sunday night game in HD.
And the worst part is, I can't even get satellite at the house b/c of a myriad of trees blocking the line of site that are not on our property.

This truly sucks.

Just wanted to gripe... stupid DirectTV/NFL monopoly.

At leats a post a week about the whole DirecTV monopoly. Absolutely ridiculous when the superpower that is the NFL often offer only 2-3 games total for the day. Almost blows my mind when I sit down at 1:00 and there is only 1 game available. Pisses me off to no end.

I live outside DC, so it is apparently Redskins AND Ravens territory. So when the Redskins play, they never have another game on the next channel I believe. The same holds true for the Ravens. So today the Ravens played at 4, and the Skins at 1.
Skins won big and there's no point watching that game past half time.
The Ravens are unwatchable at any given time.
I'd rather watch bowling than that atrocity of a football game the Ravens played.

"Dumb and Dumber"- best punch line

Lylod
I'm gonna ask you something flat out
and I want you to answer me honestly:

What do you think the chances are of

a girl like you and a guy like me

ending up together?

MARY
Not good.

LLOYD
You mean not good, like one out of a hundred?

MARY
I'd say more like one out of a million.

LLOYD

So you're telling me there's a chance !

Man it could be worse. Feel for those poor suckers in the Bay Area. The Niners have half empty stadiums, but since they sell all the tickets they still show all home games. Then you got the Raiders as the other games. The NFL rule is if the home team in the area has a home game, you only get two TV games. When you have two local teams you are almost always going to get only two TV games, usually one of each team.

I have no idea what the stats are, but I would wager the Bay Area has to have one of the highest buy rates of the NFL package. Imagine its week 16 or 17 and there are a couple of big games that will decide playoff spots. Yet you are stuck watching the Niners and Raiders play out the string in meaningless contests. How horrible would that be?

That is one reason some people in LA don't want a team. They see the best games every week, so I've heard.

My uncle says they still usually show Rams and Raiders games in LA, but at least they have the option to put on a big game and have three games to show each week.
