Have not seen program yet, (on west coast), but I do understand his position. Successful athletes and others are most competitive type people. Every minute, hour, day, week, month, & year is based on that. When not on the competitive field or floor, that person wants/needs to get after it. Naturally he would not admit to a problem, because he has been bred on competing as a right a way of life !CF

Where On Earth Does He Come Up With A 4 Handicap
I Did Not See The Interview But Read The Previous Post.
A Few Years Ago He Was Given An Exemption To The Western Open And Did Not Break 100 In The First Round.
THere Is No Way This Guy Can Bust 80 On A Regular Basis Unless His Partners Are Conceding 10 Foot Putts Taking Mulligans Etc.
I Could Care Less How Good Or Bad A Golfer One Is But I Had To Reply To

Rumor has it Stern kicked MJ out of the NBA for two years for gambling, amazingly he went and played baseball for two years. NBA didn't lose face, MJ kept all his endorsements and they both win.

A friend of mine asked me to play golf with MJ in Chicago, he had beat this 21 old out $5,000 playing golf. The 21 old played at florida state and said he got nervous playing MJ. Mj talked trash the whole time. The kid wanted my friend to back him against MJ. Said he was somewhere between an 8-10 handicap and the kid was a scratch golfer. Wanted to take MJ down for some cash.

jordan has one of the worst swings i've ever seen.. they showed him a couple of times at the lake tahoe event .

one time he topped a 7 iron off a par 3 tee.

the other he half shanked his shot..

like i said , i will give him 2 a side every day the rest of my life and be able to retire..

I Agree With World Number 1 And As Previously Stated He Is Nowhere Near A Single Digit Player. I Am A Bit Confused How Anyone Who Plays For Florida State On Scholarship Could Lose In Medal Play Unless He Had The Worst Day Of His Life Or Totally Choked Over Playing For Money. Stranger Things Have Happened In Golf

Think about it. You are looking at a six foot putt you normally make and thinking if I miss this I am going to lose $2,000. To Jordan $2,000 is chump change. To this kid $2,000 is most of his life savings. Plus the fact that you are playing with a legend. I could see it.

There was a guy who played pool. Average player with alot of money. He would keep raising the stakes. All of a sudden the better player starts missing the shot for $1,000 a rack that he was making for $50 a rack. Kind of the same thing. The kid just wasn't use ot playing for that kind of money.

Jordan would say you better put it on the green and make your birdie or you are going to lose. Talked trash the whole round and got into the kid's head. If you lose it on the golf course sometimes its hard to get it going again.

I believe he was kicked out of the NBA too!!! His quote at the news confernece went something like this. Do you ever think you will return to the NBA? Jordan laughs and says "If Mr. Stern let's me"

Jordan himself admitted that he got himselfs into situations that he shouldn't have and pushed the envelope too far. He basically admitted he had a problem. Now there are degrees of problems and obviously since he's rich beyond most people's wildest dreams his problems won't impact the way an Average Joe's does, but he does have some issues there.

I Totally Agree With Your Statement
When It Comes To Playing For Money Everyone Has FOR THE LACK OF A BETTER WORD Their Choking Point When They Do Not Have The Type Of Stake Their Opponet Has.As A Former Division 2 Player And One Who Has Unsuccessfully Tried Many Mini Tours Years Ago. I Meant No Disrespect To Your Friend. Once Again You Make A Very Legitamite Point And I have Been In The Same Position On Occasion.

technically his swing is awful. decelerates on the downswing and drops his head.

golf wasnt invented for 6 foot 6 inch guys..

joe falls used to write for the detroit free press or news . maybe he still does. is this you ?
