Another bad call by the home plate ump goes the Sox way this postseason. At some point maybe you just have to say destiny.

if/when the WS win this one - they need to make 12 extra rings and give them to all of the umps in the ALCS and WS - for those 12 did more to help the Sox win the WS (if they do) then anything the Sox did

I am not at all biased in this series and that was a helluva shot by Konerko.

However, who agrees/disagrees that the game would be best served with another look at the full count, 2 out, 2 on, Dye hit-by-pitch that appeared to hit the bat and not his arm???

I predict this. Someday baseball will understand that when the game is on the line as often is the case in the 7th you use the best you have to put the fire out. Someday I swear the book will be rewritten. But things change slowly in this game.

Lets see the bases jammed and their best hitter up. Maybe we'll use Lidge to start the next inning. OOPS. Nevermind.

No money on the game or series --- but if the WhiteSox catch another monster break in the playoffs this year, it's going to be the umps which have an asterisk next to their names in the history books.

Of course it hit his back and not his arm. But will the sore losers please quit complaining about the sox getting a break.

he checked his swing on a terrible pitch and it happened to hit his bat. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BALL FOUR ANYWAY. If called correctly it could be argued that the ASTROS CAUGHT A BREAK getting lucky that it happened to hit his bat as he tryed to get out of the way.

No lucky breaks here. The astros pitchers choked plain and simply, both on the 3-2 pitch and the pitch to konerko.

I would love to get this guy in Boston. Free agent next year. Will Chicago cough up money for him?
