Instant Replay

First the ALCS, now the World Series? Wonder what MLB will do about instant replay now.....

I don't think Instant Replay in the regular season, but in the playoffs when you consider what is at stake. I think there should be.

That missed call on Dye tonight and missed call in the LAA paved a pretty nice path to a world series ring for the CHW.

Now could have Dye still walked or would the Angels have won that game?
At least we would know the answers to those questions with replays.

I could see it now

Ump goes under the hood and look at 20 calls game ends like 3 days later. Never going to happen.

Nobody said it had to resemble the NFL. Just an official watching the game upstairs, and deciding to take a look at close calls. Implement only in the playoffs would not be a bad idea. I think it probably will happen....at least in some form.

I don't think you change how you officiate a game after 162 have been played. Either you use it from day one or not at all.

I don't think they really need instant replay, especially on plays like balls or strikes or hit batsman. They already have an ump down 3rd base line and 1st base line that is watching as well.

I think if the coaches would ask for a second opinion we wouldn't be debating this issue. The home plate umpire would have been overruled.

See, I wish a request for a second opinion shouldn't be needed. If an umpire makes a really bad call, and another sees it, he should overrule it. It's like appealing on check swings...just tell us already yeesh.

Instant replay in baseball would be tough...would this be only for calls not including balls/strikes (clearly, you can't instant replay those).
