Anyone else use this?...

I guess I just don't get it or don't like it...

Once I do connect, it probably takes over an hour (at least) before anything even starts to download, and even then, the pace is oh-so painfully SLOW...

I haven't used Kazaa in ages, but at least with them, you go to download something and it would generally start downloading IMMEDIATELY and with lightning speed...

Not emule...

Anybody have success downloading stuff from this "donkey"?...I mean, if I leave my pc on overnight, sometimes a few things will download, but most of the time, it's a piece here and a piece there...Maybe there are better settings to try?...

If anyone likes Emule and has had success with it, give me a few tips for more success for my downloading experience...

Thanx...

I have used e-donkey quite a bit to download movies. I assume it's the same or close to emule?

When I first started I had some problems downloading too which was easily fixed by adjusting the default settings since they were not the most efficient. After adjusting them, my experience has been that if I did a search for a movie and not many copies existed on the network (new releases) that I would wind up in a queue that may take several hours to find and start downloading the file. Assuming the file is readily available, a two hour movie usually takes on average 6-8 hours to D/L with a cable connection.

My suggestion would be to do a search in the support area of their forum (http://forum.overnet.com/) and post your problem if you don't find the answer. The forums are really useful and the moderators are really quick about responding with a solution. Odds are the answer you're looking for is already there somewhere in the archives.

brewers7 - Firewall settings, etc. cause many delays in these share programs. I try to stay away from them.

My firewall and port settings were part of the problem with my initial downloads.
