There is a myth out there that seems to have a life of its own. The concept is simple. Gamblers must make their bets big enough to generate excitement. However, I strongly suggest readers reflect on this and realize it is at the heart of most gambling problems.

Reminds me of the days when I used to have what I called "My Nervous Price" and felt I couldn't get excited by any wager made lower that that price. Needless to say the the philosophy got me in trouble.
