I have nickel on White Sox +172 tonight...going into top of 12 would you hedge off with Astros in-game -109?

Think it all comes down to a personal decision on your feeling on the game currently.

In most cases, no.

I agree. In this type of a game it's tough to know who will come out ahead. I would think the Astros have the slight advantage batting in the bottom of the inning.

Game by game with your insights on ( presumably) watching the game ! Taking the sure profit on auto-pilot is wrong. It depends how large the bet is relative to BR, for one thing. I sometimes add to my original exposure.

Well after watching this classic, I would have had trouble sleeping if it lost.

The home team always has an advanatge in extra inning games, especially when both teams had gotten deep in their bullies.

Even though it lost, you have to make that hedge every time it is available.
