LOL....Shut up Kidslick :finger: (but yeah, you're probably right to an extent)

The concept of a tech help room has come up-we have a lot of very tech savvy guys around here-on the PC, network and programming side. I really don't think that it would get that much traffic on a regular basis, but maybe I'm wrong (Speak up if there are a lot of questions that you have nevered bothered to ask).

Sherm, does it just hang at the "blank desktop" screen?

when i pull up that menu, it gives me the normal choices and when you click on anything it goes away but you stare at your desktop....

Sherm, quite a few possibilities here....need to rule a couple things out first.

Go to Trendmicro.com & run the free online virus AND spyware scan. Remove whatever it finds. I can email you a zip file of a couple things that you can run to "undo" whatever viruses you may have had in the past.

It that doesn't fix anything, we can dig deeper.

It can't hurt and it will guarantee that we are starting with a "clean slate".

sherman, are you talking about a different computer than the one you're using now? you can't surf, can't shut down, can't do anything? then you have to pull the battery. ur probably frozen because you had too many programs running. if you didn't save 'work' ur SOL.

if you're running on wireless, you may also have lost all your memory if internet logs are being kept. restart, see how much space you have on your hard drive. if you have next to nothing left and can't figure out why, that's probably it. then go to C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs and start deleting.

I emailed TT earlier tonight w/ a question. He is the forum expert that is for sure!

My laptop does that sometime when the fan comes on and I have to hold down the power key just to get it to shut down.
