I like the Seidel books, Investing in College Basketball I've read and I have his new one, "Wagering to Win" on order..

Some of his gambling fundamentals are shaky, but the section on stats and matchups is worth it's weight in gold.

Thanks Santo. I did see a couple of titles of his.

I don't reccomend the Ross book at all btw..

I stopped reading when he suggested if you lose you might want to double up your next bet, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Just ordered "investing in college basketbal".

From what I read he has a finance/economics background and takes an approach to betting similar to investing (hence the title). Having an education in finance myself I think this will be a good read for me.

We've read many of the same books. The Ross book is a nightmare and a huge waste of money. I think I made it maybe halfway through. I have the Fields manual and it's ok - nothing special. I also just ordered the newer Seidel book and agree with what Santo said about them. The first was a good read, pays for itself rather quickly.

One of the biggest problems with the Ross book is it's readability. Just too boring, too much filler, not enough content, and not divided up in any sensible way. If you do get it, I recommend one read through but with a highlighter so you can highlight anything you think has value to reference it later.
