Spreadbeater's Report After Hurricane Wilma.....

Hey fellas,

Finally got onto the RX after the past 4 days of this hurricane shit. My house was OK, our gate, fence, and roof is a little fucked up. Lost tons of roof tiles. Have not had power or telephone since the storm hit. I have watched the World Series on a 3X5 inch black and white TV. Not sure which was worse, the actual World Series or the TV I was watching it on. 98% of the county that I live in, Broward County, has been without power since the storm. Little by little, houses are starting to get electricity back. I'm at one of my buddy's houses now on the computer, he just got power back last night. Shit is crazy here, cant find hot meals, lines to get gas are 6 hours long. Shit is really crazy here. Out of the 2,600 traffic lights in the county, only 18 are working. Nuts! the 7PM curfew finally got extended to 11PM, but you can hardly see when driving at night, due to the fact that there are no lights or anything. Shit is just really crazy.

Looks like I missed out on some soap opera material since I have last been on, the whole situation with ACE-ACE. Craziness! Not sure what else I have missed, I havent gone through any threads. Just heard about that from a friend.

Well just wanted to give everyone a heads up as to what is really going on down here, since I am not sure what they are/arent showing on the national news. Just wanted to let all my RX brethren know that I'm OK and that the family is all fine. Hope all is well with everyone else and I hope to get back on to the RX soon, as I am having RX withdrawal. Hope to talk to you guys soon!!!!!

i'm 3 hours north of you.. know all about what youre going thru..

we were without power for 9 days last year. it seemed like 9 months. we got thru it though . makes you appreciate when things run smoothly.

my best buddy lives in jupiter . he said when the back side of the hurricane hit the east side , you would have thought a cat. 5 was coming onshore from the east .

What up buddy? Shit is real crazy here!! Was thinking about trying to get a flight out to Costa Rica, but the airport is shut down. Looks like I will stick it out down here until the power goes back on. Clip, try to give me a call on my cell phone sometime tomorrow. Not sure it will work, but give it a try. I will get the message even if it does not ring. Cant wait for NBA, just hope that I have power when the season starts :dancefool

Yes, Broward got the eye of the storm. Unfortunately, still without power. This is the first time I have been near a computer in days. :monsters-

Been watching CNN and from the reports, it appears not enough was learned from Katrina as it is sad to see so many Floridians waiting for food and water in long lines and no help from the National Guard yet. did you hear what jeb bush said about all those floridians ??

i was one of those floridians last year . in fact on a couple of occasions .

it appears fewer and fewer people want to take responsibilty for themselves during these things .

i was without power for 9 days during one of the storms . i didnt even know where the fema truck was . i prepared..
