Does anyone on here play poker on pokerroom.com? I've been with them for over 2 years and also play on Paradise and Party poker. This is what happened to me on pokerroom 2 days ago. First of all they dont offer any way to transfer money from one account to another like any other websites. They allow you to send gift vouchers to other players but only up to 500 per month. A friend of mine came to my house and we played a rather big tourney together. We ended up cashing for 2400 dollars so I had to get 1200 from my account into his account. When he got home we opened up a private table so we would disturb any other players. I transferred him chips on the table. It was just us 2 at the table so no one else was affected. 2 days ago I tried to log in and found out that my account had been blocked because they dont like money being transferred at a table without them making their rake on it. My friend's account has been blocked too. I currently have over 4000 dollars in my pokerroom account and he has about 1500. I called cust support and they told me that the only thing I had to do was to fax them my id and my account would be unblocked within 24 hours and I could continue to play or cashout if I chose. I did that on Wed. and it is now friday and they still havent unblocked our accounts. Now they are telling me it could take 5-10 more business days because their accounts team is way behind and very busy. Now I am fumed. What can I do?

What you did is called chip dumping and is against the rules at most major poker sites.

Sites do not allow chip dumping as it can be used to circumvent credit card fraud.

This is a well known rule at all poker rooms, and grounds for confiscation. "Theft" is a strong word seeing as YOU broke the rules, and your acct is just locked for the time being.

Chip dumping is how cheaters often pay off their partners, not to mention chargebacks.

I know what chip dumping is but when they give you no way to transfer money, your options are limited. Plus, do they have to block your account for 10 business days?

That's exactly what I was thinking. Chip dumping like you did will get you red flagged at any poker room that is even remotely paying attention.

On any other site it would have been simple, I could have just transferred money very easily.

I understand that. What I don't understand is you crying about getting caught breaking the rules because it wasn't simple enough not to.

Bottom line- You F'd up, if they don't find any evidence of collusion (and believe me, they'll look) you'll likely get your money.

obviously there was no collusion, no one else was at the table but us. Trust me, if they would have made rake on the transferred money, there wouldnt be any problem.

Trust me, chip dumping is chip dumping regardless of rake. These sites wont put up with it. But I know, it was simple

Believe me, I knew what I was doing when I did it. I've been playing poker for over 20 years and been playing online for over 5 years. They should just offer a simple way to transfer money (that they dont have to make their rake on). And if they dont want my business no problem, just send me MY money and I'll give someone else my business, which I will be doing anyway.

They will pay you even though they are not obligated by the letter of the law. They will probably wait 35 days to avoid any chance of a charge back.

What kind of chargeback, I sent them money via neteller, just like I have for the entire 2 years that I have been playing with them. Also the last deposit I have made with them was back in May. I have only made withdrawls since then. I'm not kidding either.

A lot of sites have rules against having more than one player per "hand." If you e-mailed them and told them that you and another guy played the tourney together you may have another problem on top of the chip dumping.

If you've been playing online for 5 years you should have known better...

I wish you the best of luck here but be prepared for a lengthy wait while they verify everything. By the way, these sites have security so that all the accounts are safe. Right now, your ox is the one being gored, but everyone else is probably happy that they check these things. With all the bad press that Pokerroom has been getting since their rake hike, by comparison this makes Pokerroom look good.

I dont see how anything good can be said about pokerroom. Their site and servers are downjust about every other day. They also have the highest rakes and the worst cust. service. The only time I even play there is in featured tourneys. Other than that I dont play there anymore.

FYI-In fairness to Pokerroom.com, I removed "theft" from the thread title.

The policy that you are dealing with there is in place at most, if not all poker sites. Everything should work itself out, the question is how long it will take.
