The total he bet was an accurate total and when he was looking at the tote board, the game listed just underneath had the same total. It was a silly mistake, but one anyone could have made.
The board is not always the easiest to read, especially if the total is identical to what it was offshore.
And yes, his wife is a lovely lady.
