I agree with u!!!!

This BC is crap..all hyped up for a bunch of multi millionaires to show off the horses they are losing $$ on even if they win.. Several owners with more $ than brains put up 800k per to get their horses in the BC races. Both off the board.......sick or what???

Also the young fan base is not there when the older crowd betting the ponies is no longer here in the next 10-15 years this sport could be in big trouble.

If you were at Belmont on a day like today, I'd say the demo was actually really young. Young and with money. Now it's just a matter of getting them to the windows instead of the bar with some of it. Actually quite a lot of eye candy today.

For the record, I'm 29 but have been going to the races since I was 5 so I'm in for life.

Whats the crowd like during normal racing days?

I just remember reading a article about this industry worrying about getting younger folks into the sport hope it works out for them.

Exactly. During a normal race day it's the hardened horse players that come out. We just have to get these young people with disposable income to wager on a more consistent basis. There are PLENTY of buyers as evident through the last few years of sales results at all levels, weanlings, yearlings, 2yo in training, breeding and mixed stock.

RJ...sorry to hear about your rough day. Everyone has them. The bad days on big games/race days always seem worse. Throw it behind you and don't look back. The more you rehash, the harder it is to get back on track.

Good luck. :toast:

BC Ass KIcked

Hey Thanks To All For The Condolances
Like I Said Before I Am Not Being A Crybaby
I Am Disgusted With Myself For Making Wagers On What I Would Normally Regard As Marginal Plays(In My Opinion) In 38 Years I Should Do What I Do Every Racing Day And Use Better Judgement On Races Which I Usually Consider Wide Open Or Have A Bit Of Uncertainty.
I have Already Tossed Yesterdays Form (I Usually Keep 60 Days) And Refuse To Watch Any Replays. My Errors Were Obvious To Me And Will Do What I Have Always Tried To Stick By When I Open The Next Form.
AS Noted Take The Good With The Bad And Start Again.
I Can Not Even Blame Bad Racing Luck Sat Just Assine Wagering On My Part
