I am interested to hear what you might think about this company. These people are seeking investment in an unconventional way, in order to fund some housing projects in CR.

www.trustagreement.com/banktrust/

They also operate some other strange things like "Knights of Paradise Resorts".

Can anyone here shed some light on this? Does the name Dexter Dombro mean anything to anyone here? He is the CEO of this outfit.

I'm asking because I have been approached to invest in this stuff and thought there might be some people here who know about this company.

Thanks.

perhaps these guys are legit.....................BUT

keep in mind that

1) its extremely easy to create get a business "license" or more accurately a legal entity to operate (it costs about 90 dollars to get that piece of paper they display on their website, the one that says "cedula judirida"
2) normally these legal entitites dont have any assets under their name so if you had to sue them you may win and not get anything in return
3) since you are not in CR your ability to put pressure to these guys in case of a ligitation is even weaker

they say this

"The primary business mandate for the Trustee of this fund is to conduct asset-based lending only, while the Trustee completes all formalities related to the establishment of a fully funded, licensed private bank."

which is very interesting because a fully funded, licensed private bank etc its a BIG deal, that you dont get to create easily, EVEN then, a private bank in CR is not "FDIC insured" (quotations because its not the same name here but thats the terms that someone in the US would understand) so they can fold and its a legal nightmare to get back

I would rather put that money on a CD (And get 3.5% APR), pay off any debt and lower interest payments, put the money in a mutual fund or investment fund or anything else before doing something like this

on top of that , they are not even disclosing their contact info in the domain registration info

for the record there have been quite a few scams like that in CR recently, not counting the brothers etc there was the guy from the "vault" that died and left a bunch of people high and dry (and empty pocketed too)

Thanks Wolfie. Good info there.

Can you give your opinion on this particular investment they are advertising?

www.trustagreement.com/holidays/details.html

Is this a scam or legit?

Also, does anyone know if this place actually exists? And if it does, what kind of resort is it?

like I said Baus

I can produce equally valid information for an equally valid company in about a week /80 dollars

they have a cedula juridica number in there, that is like the tax-id 3-101-331353

tomorrow I will take a look and see if they have any property under their name at all.........but I could set up the very same type of outfit in about a week- dont invest a dime on this........

if you are too greedy..........you get what you deserve afterwards

Thanks Wolfie.

If you could find out if they have any property or assets of any kind that would be fantastic.

Some friends of mine have already made some investments with these people and were encouraging me to come on board. If these people turn out to be worthless, or known scammers, then I will suggest to my friends to get out while they still can....

Thanks again.

Dude, you ARE Dexter B. Dombro!

Or at least a spitting image of him.

Every page screams "scam, stay away".

Especially this one:
http://www.trustagreement.com/banktrust/

"The Caribbean-Pacific Bank Trust is situated in San José, Costa Rica."

Sorry, but it ain't a bank, and you can't use the word "bank" without running afoul with Costa Rica's financial regulations.

Lol, I thought Dexter's mug would make a fine avatar!

What can you tell me about this office? It doesn't seem like a reputable company would operate out of such a place....

This RPC Canada company is also claiming to be building "Affordable Housing Projects" in CR. For those of you who live in CR, does it seem like such a venture would be a profitable one?

Does any of this www.rpccanada.com website seem like it makes any sense at all? Would you trust these people?

Thanks again.

what a surprise, that knights of paradise doesnt have any property registered to its name.......

on top of that, like Adam stated, that is not a bank, you can get a list of the actual banks on CR in the site of the SUGEF (its the entity that regulates banks in CR)

but hey. no need to, it seems to be pretty clear that these guys are a "deposit only" kind of investment
