My favorites have been :

Bill Murray
Will Ferrell
Dana Carvey
Chris Rock
Chris Farley

That skit where Farley is trying to motivate the kids . He's hitching up his pants and then falls on the coffee table.. Kills me . David Spade was laughing his ass off while in the skit.

Are you including Rock because of his post-SNL career? Because he didn't have much SNL camera-time.

Anyway, Phil Hartman is my favorite. Arguably the most versatile SNL actor.

Way too many greats to narrow down, but: Eddie Murphy(Buckwheat still kills me!), Billy Crystal (You look mah-velous!),Church-Lady,All the presidential look-a-likes, the guy that did Dieter, and all the guys from the 70's from Belushi on down!

This list makes me think that SNL sucks now. No one on that roster I can see even cracking a top 10 list.

As for my top five in no order

Phil Hartmen
Wil Ferrel
Chris Farley
Eddie Murphy
Joe Piscopo was damn funny too. His Frank Sinatra stuff always killed me.
