I would assume that the vast majority of sports gamblers in these forums have a record keeping system of some kind. I don't think anybody would argue that this is not an important element which at the very least can help avoid disaster. Record keeping systems will of course vary from player to player
I'm would also think that personal record keeping should include a day by day figure of profit or loss.
The latter I think, while necessary to me at least, can help you avoid disaster and perhaps even more easily create it. The major pitfall, of course, is chasing just to save the day. It took me a surpisingly long time to balance the need for this type of record keeping while not placing so much emphasis on it that I would end up playing, lets say, a Hawaii game that I never intended to play and then playing it for more than a truely well handicapped game early in the day.
That pitfall is just so important to avoid and it takes discipline to do so. It may be the greatest obstacle to your success and the greatest gift you can give the man. Just take the loss and on to tommorrow. You must learn to do this.
But that being said and hopefully while having avoided any major chasing, I'd be interested in how long of a daily winning streak is your record breaking personal best of all time.
