The legend of Cryin' Kenny

The NBA season tipped off Nov. 1, stirring memories of wagering warriors from previous hardwood campaigns. Any bookmakers' list of legendary NBA bettors would have to include "Cryin' Kenny," a notorious 'under' player who was well known around North Las Vegas sports books in the 1970s.

I can feel for Cryin Kenny a little. I think the year was 1992. I needed 4 points from a Boston Celtic/Charlotte Hornet overtime playoff game to win a good sized over bet. Natrually the Hornets won the overtime 2 to 1. Three points in five minutes of NBA basketball..

Dogball and I can relate....one night a couple years ago, we were talking on IM, and had both made good sized bets on the IND/Bost game over, and were rooting it in, i believe in fact it was a playoff game.....they started out scoring like crazy, then really slowed up, and we were sure we were screwed, until one of them hit a shot at the buzzer to send it to overtime, only needing 6 points for the over......Indiana won the overtime 5-0...

Boston never scored in the overtime at all......

Unbelievable...

Wow, my best friend had a bet on that exact same game. He found out he still had a few hundred in a dormant account and put it all on the over in this game.

He sends me a few emails:
1) I'm back in action at xxx, put it all on the over.
2) Yeah, OT coming, I'm in the money.

3) Last email had me in tears, simply said:
NEVER MIND!
