my boss let out of work early today since the weather was insanely nice outside and he wanted to leave to. Went down to the beach for an afternoon jog. The Blue Angels were right over me practicing for an air show this weekend. I only caught about half their act, but it was great.

Their were a bunch of curious people who wandered out onto the beach to watch. With the noise from the very low level flyovers, it wasnt hard for anyone in the area to figure out something was going on.

The last trick they performed, the most dangerous, I happened to be the only one on the beach with a perfect view point. the 6 planes all started out very far from each other and were driving from six different points right at each other.

I stopped running when one of their tricks was about to go down and watched, but this one was clearly special and it was coming RIGHT AT ME.
As they got closer two things became clear. One, this was going to be VERY KEWL! Two, as these guys do once in a blue moon have an accident, if any of these planes collided I was going to be SO DEAD! not hurt, dead. I have a feeling scrap metal hurtling thru the air at 500 mph tends to kill someone if it hits them.

they intersected maybe 25 yards from me at a height of 40 yards or so. Boy was I in the right spot. Yes, it was pretty damn loud. But that was so cool!

As far as whether any of them collided, I am posting so the money should come in on the "No".

if you get a chance to see this, do it. it wont disappoint. :103631605

tesco, dont worry about it. the goverment squanders more money on nothing or less than nothing than we can possibly imagine.

the blue angels at least produce excellent entertainment.

tesco,

ha ha, good point :103631605

their was an article in the paper here recently too and this is very small potatoes for our government, but hundreds of truckers are being paid $449 per day in florida to sit around and do nothing by FEMA. Although the aid their trucks carry is still badly needed in some poor communities in florida hit by the hurricane, FEMA cant figure out the logistics of where to send them. So the truckers sit around day after day and collect their money and wait to be told where to go. While the people who still need aid suffer.

its best not to worry about US government waste, it will just give ya a headache.

Had a chance to see them a few years ago and had a great time. Would see them again, if I get a chance.
