I took 5th in 2002..and should have made 21K...only made 12K due to their "old payout structure" where blocks were paid the same regardless of points scored...everyone solo in 5th made the same as all tied for 10th
Took 17th in 2004...should have made $4500 according to the above rules, but thanks to Jay Kornegay and new Hilton management, the payouts were changed AFTER the contest and we made the same as all tied for 17th-20th and not what the 11th-16th place winners got because Kornegay and his guys THOUGHT THE OLD WAY THAT HILTON USED WAS WRONG and without notice before or during the contest changed the whole payout structure..
so who ever knows who'll make what in the Hilton Contest...word on the street is SUPER JAY and the boys feel that 300K is too much for 1st so they want to spread that around by donating half to FEMA and getting 150K to the winner that can be used for match play at the Hilton...who knows, they have the right to do whatever the hell they want as the Gaming Control Board is Vegas is "taken care of" so what ever they want there...they get !!
MORAL OF THE STORY---AVOID THE HILTON CONTEST....too many intangibles to really fuck it all up !
Unfortunately that pretty little chart STILL doesnt explain break downs when ties come into play....will it be done like it was at the Hilton for the YEARS AND YEARS until last year...or the new Kornegay method...
Prima Donna Jay can change it at will....so be weary !!
