I may have figured out why Jackson-Hewlett asks for the source of gambling winnings when they do your taxes. Ok (my theory only--haven't asked anyone) is that, because the company is required to accompany the taxpayer to any tax audit, the IRS WILL ask the source of gambling winnings.
If I'm correct about this, does H & R Block not accompany the taxpayer to an audit. (therefore they don't ask the source as you say.)

Any thoughts on this?

Don't be so paranoid, bro. You worry too much about this. Pay your taxes and rest easy. The gov't isn't gonna do anything about you betting online. The only thing you need to be concerned about is paying taxes.....that is the only thing that could get you in trouble.

Please tell us that you do not use Jackson-Hewlett or H & R Block in the age of Turbo Tax.

Why would you pay those clowns to prepare your taxes?

I think you'll really like it. After the first year it remembers most everything so the returns completed for subsequent years will take even less time. Remember the filing fee is a deduction too (assuming you itemize).

* Any charitable deductions claimed for over $500 can be red flags.

Use HR BLOCK PREMIUM, and YES, they do accompany their client if indeed they are audited.
