These linesmakers need to get a little sharper. I mean, Seattle -4 against a joke of a team like Arizona? Give me a break. Maybe stop giving an edge for home field advantage to the really shitty teams. Otherwise they're going to keep getting pounded.:suomi: :suomi: :suomi:

the catch phrase among nfl experts is "the league has a lot parity". I think that is not the truth this year as the gap between the good and bad teams is alot wider than people think.

Ice

I was think the same thing, I am a dog player especially in the
NFL and this year I am getting my brains kicked in. Seems to\
me the parity thing is all bs. Teams that can't win don't even
cover. That is a ton different from years past. These late games
had not one dog covering. That is very odd. Fav players
are having a good time, even thinking about changing my strategy
for the rest of this year.

Even if you're a dog player, sometimes the plays just aren't there. Today you mostly had good teams visiting crap teams, with relatively low point spreads. These situations aren't good for people who like to play dogs exclusively, since there is not much room between an outright loss and a cover.

In the past I have been mostly a dog player. I have changed this year for one simple reason. I see a better value on the Favorite so far this year. alot of bad teams this year

You are correct, however when that situation arises I always
feel that the dog has a good shot of winning the game. So,
I play both the side and the money line and get screwed twice.

I'm sure you'll get yours one of these weeks, today things were just aligned poorly for the dog players. I had all the road favs today of 4 points or less, and cleaned up. The only home dog I had was the Jets, who should have lost by 20 if it weren't for the Schottenheimer factor. I also have the Eagles, who are in danger of getting run out of the stadium right now.

Dont give up hope on the Eagles because W is the only fav
bet I made all day. So you can easily figure out how well
I have done.]

Ouch...hope you had the Texans at least.

That bonehead play by McNabb at the end of the 1st half should help you out.

Yes and yes it helped a tiny bit. Thought I would lose that
one too and W was just about in fg range. Amazing, that's
why they call it gambling.

They gave back whah they won last week. It is up and down, but I imagine the bigger places are still doing all right. Not everyone loads up on faves like they used to.

The new "information" age more and more guys bet dogs, especially home dogs. I would bet that books made money yesterday even. Except that they got middled and sided on a few games.

Just because favs are covering at a 57% rate doesn't mean everyone one is winning. People really shouldn't be jumping to conclusions like this All you can do is watch the lines move, and if the lines move and they still win, then you might be able to make some assumptions. But just because favorites are winnng doesn't mean boooks are lsoing.

You're right about the home dogs thing, for sure. I know guys who don't spend more than a split second looking over a game before throwing down, and they look and see a home dog, and they play it without considering any other factors. Your average bettor has certainly gotten a whiff of the home dog strategy, and not just recently.

I'm just basing my comments on every "public report" that gets posted in here, all of which are usually loaded with nothing but favorites. Makes me cringe when I put down a play on some of these teams, but it's hard to argue when you have a playoff team only favored by 2 or 3 against an also ran who usually struggles to put up more than 10-14 points.
