I'm in an office pool and I'm tied for 1st. I have Indy, 2nd place has NE.

Should I play NE +4 or whatever? I would be winning 600 if Indy wins.

I really don't know what to do. I play a lot of 1st and 2nd halfs. I lost last night with Phily 2nd half trying to protect this pool (had Wash in the pool).

Thanks

Throw a few bucks on the +4.5 and a few bucks on the moneyline and enjoy the game.

Only for a small percentage of the $600 though.

Congrats on your position.

I am assuming you are picking straight up.

If you are picking straight up, $200-$300 on the Pats +4 will give you an opportunity to middle. If the Pats cover, you win the bet and lose the pool. If Indy covers, you win the pool but lose the bet. If Indy wins but fails to cover, you win both.

Fish brings up a good point. I am assuming that you only played $10 or so bucks to get into the pool. Since you don't have that much at risk on the Indy wager, a small bet the other way (vs. my previous advice of $200-$300) is probably the way to go.

Most experienced gamblers will tell you the absolute BEST way to handle this is just do nothing.

However, I personally would put a VERY SMALL hedge into effect just to lock up a profit and not be kicking myself later if Indy should happen to go down.

Yeah, it was $10 to get in and we're splitting 1150 if Indy wins straight up.

I might take NE +4.5 for 300 or so or play them first half

I do think Indy wins it, but I'm nervous about all the support they are getting.
