They certainly could now, and will be favored in every game for sure, and this would be a great story for the NFL.

I for one am glad to see Indy will have home field, now lets see what they can do in January.

Let's be honest, Seattle and Cincinatti probably won't give this team games. If these games were at home, the Colts would beat both teams by double digits. But Seattle will give them their best road game to date.....they can beat the Colts the one way you can, pound the ****ing ball right down their throats. That being said, it is still obvious that their two toughest games left are San Diego and Pittsburgh in that order. Pittsburgh's corners unfortunately still blow and teams are starting to read and pick up their blitzes, yet Pittsburgh could give this team a game by playing ball control and running right at those undersized linemen. As for San Diego, they should've beat this Indy team in the RCA Dome last year. San Diego has a solid TE and world-class RB, but most importantly, they have a couple corners that can cover and a 4-man rush that can bring pressure all day. That will be the game they lose....San Diego.

It's going to be interesting in the AFC since there are a good number of solid teams that can make the Super Bowl if they dodge a few teams. For instance......

Pittsburgh
SHOULD BEAT Denver, San Diego, Jacksonville, Cincinnati
TEAMS SUSCEPTIBLE TO BEATING THEM Indy, New England

Indianapolis
SHOULD BEAT Denver, Cincinnati, New England, Pittsburgh
TEAMS SUSCEPTIBLE TO BEATING THEM San Diego, Jacksonville

New England
SHOULD BEAT Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, maybe Jax
TEAMS SUSCEPTIBLE TO BEATING THEM San Diego, Denver, Indianapolis

The point I'm trying to make is that it will all depend on the match-ups in the AFC. Every team has at least two teams it would have a hard time beating. I'm leaving out Kansas City because I honestly have no idea what to make of that team.

Don't think so. Colts have only beaten one team with a winning record (Jags) NE is done... But then again the way overrated 72 Dolphins had the second easiest schedule in nfl history. Beat two teams with 8 (yes 8 wins) and played all losing teams. 17-0 one of thee most overrated records in history! 85 Bears, 84 Niners, and 91 Skins, would have completely destoryed everyone in the regular season (like they did in the playoffs) playing such a soft schedule! In comparison the 91 skins played 8 teams with 10 wins and five teams with 11 or more wins. Things are not always as they seem. 17-0 way overrated! If colts do it much more impressive, will face a couple tough teams, Pitt, SD, Sea, and Cincy.

@ JAX looks to be the toughest game (on paper)

Sun 11/13 Houston 1:00 pm
Sun 11/20 at Cincinnati 4:15 pm
Mon 11/28 Pittsburgh 9:00 pm
Sun 12/4 Tennessee 1:00 pm
Sun 12/11 at Jacksonville 1:00 pm
Sun 12/18 San Diego 1:00 pm
Sat 12/24 at Seattle 4:15 pm
Sun 1/1 Arizona 1:00 pm

Looks like 16-0 or 15-1 to me unless they mail in the final game.

'72 Dolphins barely escaped the AFC Champ game and trailed late to Pittsburgh, before winning 21-17...

Pitt could have easily won 3 more SB in the 70's

Thats it right there. They could have the thing locked up in week 14. Nobody except maybe Andy Reid
would want to risk injury to Marvin Harrison and Edge should Indy clinch early.

A Championship is worth a lot more than an undefeated regular season.

if they were 14-0 going into Seattle (week 15) and say they had home field clinched, it would be very tough not to try and win out...but there is no question winning the SB is more important than 16-0 that would be an interesting story for sure...

I doubt anyone else will be 12-2 at week 14, if the Colts are 14-0, they would clinch home field.

Pitt could have easily lost two SB also against big D (jackie smith wide open in endzone drops a floater) they also had luck against the oilers (clear td,start of instant replay debate) The one good thing about the 72 Afc champ game was it was in Pittsburgh, league knew it screwed up by giving dolphins a cake walk regular season, made them play the game on the road!!!!!!!!

I disagree Doctor...has nothing to do with me being the biggest 70's Steelers fan alive...

Renfro was inbounds and Jackie Smith did drop the ball, doesn't mean we wouldn't have still won.

76 Steelers may have been the best of the bunch.

i think they can run it...yeah it will take a few breaks, but they have the team and the gameplan to do it...great offense, strong defense, proven leader...what else do you need?

1976 Steelers were the best of the Stiller teams. Still have the NFL's best defense ever, I believe they allowed 138 points in 14 games. Less than 10 a game! Also, the sickest stretch in history. In a 9 game span, that Steelers D only gave up 28 points.....28! The team was just racked by injuries on the offensive side of the ball. Hell Mike Kruczek won 6 games without even throwing a TD pass. Those 70's Steelers teams were the greatest, 5 HOFers on offense, 4 HOFs on defense (will be 5 whenever the Hall stops screwing over Greenwood), HOF coach, and HOF owner. 4 Super Bowls in 6 years against teams that were actually GOOD. Raiders, Oilers, Cowboys all were VERY good in the 70's and yet the Steelers overshadowed them all.

Colts will not go undefeated this year. They will lose 2 and go 14-2 and it wont be because they have clinched homefield and bench the starters for 2 games. They lose to Pitt on Monday night, then lose either to Jax or SD.

I wouldn't jinx the colts that way. Here in BC, canada they were talking of BC Lions (CFL) going 18-0 when they were 11-0. Finished 12-6 and were lucky to win the west by virtue Calgary beat Edmonton (closest rivals) to avoid going into playoffs.

Whilst nothing is impossible, nearing post season the Colts will be resting key players and therefore teams needing to win will have a big edge. No way in my book.

Value, well that's because Dickenson got hurt and they had to use Buck Pierce at QB. Dickenson is a solid QB, spent 2 years with the Chargers if I recall.

Don't think they will. They have Pittsburgh at home and Pitt plays very well on the road. They travel to Jax and to Seattle. Both games will be very challenging. Both teams will play their asses of to give the Colts their first loss.

They will go 15-1 or 14-2 for sure though. Can't see them dropping more than 2
