Not Looking Forward to Tomorrow(sad/Dog)

Earlier this year someone submitted a post regarding the loss of their dog. I knew I would soon have to face the same terrible loss, as my dog is 16 yrs old. Well, tomorrow is that day. I now know what that poster went through and it is an absolutely awful feeling. I've been fortunate to have been with Magic for 16+ years and he's been as good a friend as anyone could ask for.

For those that have lost a loved one(the word pet doesn't do him justice),do you have any recommendations for books,websites...etc to help with the healing process ? I found petloss.com to be helpful for the moment.

Sorry to hear it Dave. I've been in your shoes before. It sucks for sure. Any personal loss is a terrible thing. The only thing that helped me was time. The more time that passes the easier it is. Never forgotten for sure, but each day that passed the grief got a little better. :sad3:

I don't know that there's any book or advice someone can give you that will help you cope with this loss. It'll just take time...I don't believe that time heals all wounds, but it time does make coping easier. I'm truly sorry for your loss. I've been there. But hang in there man.

YEp My cat is 11yrs old I have about 5 yrs left with her and she will be missed beyond belief....sorry for your loss man..I plan to get a kitten and name her the same name as my cat when she goes...will help ease the pain..

maybe get a puppy and start again
