the boxing czar of the showtime network was reportedly fired by the cable network (for taking the network away from impartiality and turning it into its own promoter) although press releases say it was a mutual decision. no word on how boxing coverage will be affected by this in 2006.

Castillo-Corrales, Hatton-Tzuyu weren't bad. But I think that Showtime realizes their place in the market and target the younger, lesser known fighters. I for one like their ShoBox presntations. Some of their America's Fight Nights haven't been horrible either. It's just not HBO.

lately hbo has been showing some awful fights showcasing their own fighters against junk.

Couldn't agree more. We were just spoiled over the last year or so. There was a solid 5 month run of just awesome fights months after month on HBO. Ebbs and flows.
