There's always someone out there that thinks they can beat the odds and the casino. Most of the time it's an employee working with someone they know like a boyfriend/girlfriend. It's almost a given that they will sooner or later get caught as security knows about every trick that has been known to mankind! They might get away with it for a while, but needless to say, these people get greedy, and want to take down as much as possible. the worst part is, these people never think they are going to get caught, but always make mistakes.

onieda casino

When Onieda casino opened in Wisconsin I was there for the summer. The dealers had to actually look under their cards when they had an A showing. I played one night where teh dealer told me what the had every time it came up. I tipped generously of course. I haven't seen it otherwise, unless you count not telling the dealer when they were mispaid on a losing hand.

I had a similar experience in LV playing heads-up at Hotel Nevada or Nevada hotel near Golden Gate. Dealer peeked, I asked what he had, he told me, then tip the guy.

I've seen people cap bets ( add chips) with a good hand, also knew a guy that claimed to have slugged machines.

never saw it ...but suspected it was happening at times...I figure all the cameras they have planted up people's asses is enough for them to see it if it is happening

Off-duty cop accused of cheating at casino

1:49 PM PDT, June 3, 2011

CHULA VISTA -- A Chula Vista police officer has been jailed for allegedly cheating at a San Diego reservation casino, police officials said Friday

The officer, Jesus Angel Salazar, has been on the city's police force for nine years, Chula Vista police Chief David Bejarano said. He was arrested at the Sycuan Casino at about 1:30 a.m. Friday by tribal police after casino officials said they observed him cheating at blackjack. They said he was caught "capping,'' or surreptitiously adding chips to a winning bet after a round of play is complete, Bejarano said.

Casino officials told Fox 5 News that Salazar is a member of Club Sycuan, which provides offers and benefits to frequent gamblers. He was playing blackjack for about an hour before he was arrested, Sycuan tribal spokesman Adam Day said.

The dealer became increasingly suspicious that Salazar might be cheating, and after four hands, he notified his pit boss, Day said. The pit boss asked the casino surveillance staff to review security video from the blackjack table and called tribal police when they verified that Salazar had been cheating, Day said. *

Salazar, 30, was not on duty at the time of the gambling incident. He is being held in San Diego County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and has been placed on unpaid leave during the investigation, Bejarano said.

Salazar was already under investigation by department internal affairs after being arrested at Sycuan on April 9 for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol, Bejarano said.

Bejarano pledged that any misconduct on the part of his employees would not be tolerated.

"If, in fact, the allegation is sustained and is accurate, I can assure you this person will not be a member of our department in the near future,'' Bejarano said.

I was playing blackjack in a San Diego casino just yesterday and.. after being down about $800 I caught a nice little streak and started pressing my $50 bets to $100. I made up the $800 lightning quick an then some. About 30 minutes after that, they had a dealer change and I can't be 100% positive, but I am pretty sure the dealer paid me on a double down winning bet and then forgot to collect a $25 losing bet next to it (after a split). I hesitated a moment before taking the chip. The truth for me is that I thought I lost the bet, but the cards were already gone and I couldn't recall exactly what I had. Anyway... for about 45 minutes after that happened I could sense someone behind me. I looked back once and it was a casino suit and then again later on and it was another casino suit. I always assume it's just a patron when I sense someone watching from behind me... but yesterday it was two suits. Maybe I'm just paranoid. I don't cheat, never will... but I think the surveillance crew is on top of every move we make when playing. It was quite impressive if they were in fact coming to check on me. I doubt it, but maybe there were... I am going to ask the hot pit boss next time I am in there. She is quite cool and I'd like to know.

I'd be surprised if the dealer made an error that they'd be giving you heat. If anything, they'd be keeping a closer eye on the dealer.
If they suspected collusion between dealer and player, all the more reason why they'd not stand behind you, they'd want more opportunities
to get the collusion on tape.

That sounds about right. The dealer was an older guy and he was friendly enough, but he was also out of synch. I was making some light conversation and it threw him way off. He rolled a chip at me that almost went off the table while he was talking to me. The first action after I got the extra chip was that I noticed a pit boss come over and pretty much watch the game play for about 5 minutes from different angles. At that moment I sorta felt like they knew the dealer screwed up and they were just watching him. I suppose next time I can stop the game and state "hey I think you forgot to collect on a losing bet" to make sure the dealer doesn't catch any shit.... or lose his job, but when playing for 4-5 hrs, I occassionally (rarely) need to stop and count my card total before taking a hit (do I have 13 or 14 for ex). So although I am monitoring my chips closely, if the dealer F's up and the cards get collected.. I'm more likely to assume I am just temporaily fried. I think they were just monitoring his mechanics most likely.

was playing pai gow in las vegas at some random time in the morning and was fairly wasted. the good drunk when your the life of the party and what not. it was a full table and we got a dealer who I don't believe dealt with the game very much. They were paying people who had losing hands (win 1 lose 1= getting paid etc). it happened numerous times at the table, not only to me. people tried to help the dealer half heartedly, but she would almost overrule and pay. Not only was she paying losing hands, she was also failing to split properly "house style". This went on for the 20 mins or so until there was the next dealer change. After the arrival of the new dealer and a hand he cleaned up with "splitting properly" i blurt out "oh know this one knows how to play pai gow" and everyone at the tables starts laughing. The dealer shot me a death stare and made some comment about taking advantage of the situation.

"anyone ever see cheating at a casino?"

That stuff just doesn't happen. There are too many protective measures in place.

I've seen it twice.

At Foxwoods, I was at a table once and there were about 10 people playing - playing the spots plus behind the spots. The dealer was clearly new. Two of the players kept backing up winning hands with $500 or so. The dealer was clueless. The pit never caught on. People played the drunk card and kept spilling drinks - there were chips everywhere. Looked like a craps table with chips everywhere. I'd say they took about $10-20k in all.

At the casino in Windsor I sat down next to one player on a corner table in the high limits room. He was betting about $1000 every hand. I was playing $100 - table minimum. I counted 7-8 decks and realized we were playing a shoe minus some cards. Every deal I'd end at like -15 or -20. Very clearly we were missing some small cards. I started playing $500/hand (Most I could do with the capital I had then). Won for about 5 hours. Took home about $10k. The dealer and pit tried to freeze us out. Kept lowering the temperature, but I sent a friend to the car to get some blankets (the days of being 22 or whatever and sleeping in the car). Very clearly, the player, dealer, and pit were in kahoots and I just lucked into the game.
