I played on an improbable championship team.

I was on the receiving end of the final dramatic play.

I was a very good collegiate player but only played in 36 games in the pro's

Derek threw me the pass.

My coach was very flamboyant

Think was all the clues together JM. Actaully won some nice cash on that game which was probably why I remember it. Think NC St was getting somewhere between 8-10 points. Maybe as high as 11.

Believe it or not ( I hate to even admit this) I fell asleep and missed the entire game...its like the only big game in my entire career I have missed....I also fell asleep during the rain delay game 3 1979 WS...

But this, lol I missed the entire game...I was working this job and had odd hours, I went to take a nap, next thing I know its tuesday morning.

NC State long range shooter Derek Whittenburg's desperation shot found nothing but the bottom of Lorenzo Charles hands...fortunately for the Wolfpack there was enough time to dunk the winning basket and stun the Houston Cougars 54-52.

that game got me hooked on college hoops. i remember watching it on the black & white tv in my room. i was in 8th grade. phi slamma jamma went down. what an awesome game.
