I had Michigan minus 4 1/2 against Colorado when Stewart hurled that hail mary to Micheal Westbook to beat the Wolves by 5. So too bad, Kordella.

What is your BADbeat/GOODbeat ratio lifetime in terms of wagers?

Thanks in advance,

I think that was my first "BADbeat". Although I've never kept track of the ratio, if I were a betting man, I would say 65-to-70 percent bad beats compared to back door covers. But I sure most could relate to that. Although Fish could probably verify my record.

Kordell's Hail Mary a "Miracle in Michigan"
By Larry Schwartz
Special to ESPN.com

Sept. 24, 1994

It's called the Miracle in Michigan when Colorado quarterback Kordell Stewart pulls a Flutie. On the game's final play, with Colorado trailing by five and having the ball on its own 36-yard line, Stewart buys time by scrambling in the pocket before letting loose a Hail Mary.

The ball travels 73 yards towards the Michigan goal line. Back-up wide receiver Blake Anderson, son of former Miami Dolphins safety Dick Anderson, leaps and tips the ball away from a Michigan defender back into the end zone.

Michael Westbrook dives for the ball and cradles it for the touchdown that gives No. 7 Colorado the improbable 27-26 victory over No. 4 Michigan, which led by 12 points with 2-1/2 minutes left.

"Only a guy with Kordell's ability could throw that far -- and stay alive to throw that far," Colorado coach Bill McCartney says. "Actually, I didn't think he could throw it that far."

While Westbrook shouts at the Michigan crowd of 106,427, Stewart tearfully kisses the grass in the end zone.

Thanks for the reminder, Funk. I guess I was incorrect, when I said Colorado won by 5. I just remember, I had the Wolves minus 4 1/2. I guess they were leading by 5, when the Miracle happened.
