Don't be fooled, the Broncos don't have great depth beyond a few positions. If they lost Plummer they would be screwed. If Rod Smith gets hurt they could have troubles because Lelie and all the guys down on the depth chart can't handle being a go-to receiver. Trevor Pryce always seems to get hurt, if he goes down life gets a lot tougher for the Browns DL. If one of the LBs gets hurt they defense will drop off because the backups don't have the speed or coverage abilities.

I am really crossing my fingers this is the year we stay healthy, but we haven't made it 16 games before without a cluster of injuries since the last title so I will have to see it to believe it. In any case having already embarassed both the Chiefs and Raiders we have accomplished about half the goals the team has for a successful season already.

No one. With the cap and FA, no team has true depth. If a team can compete and keep playoff aspirations alive with a backup QB, then they have depth (i.e. solid team in all pahses of game). Think Steelers.

Steelers just win, somehow , some way they keep winning, even when they have no QB or missing all the top RB's and key players out like Ward early in the season.

What does "deepest" mean?

Does it mean a team where you can go from 1st string to 2nd string to 3rd string and not have a huge drop-off in talent?

If that is the definition, then HOUSTON is the deepest.

They could go down to the waterboy and not have a drop-off in talent. They suck.

I don't think deepest is a good term to descrbe a football team that can get it done with backups...

'deepest team' more of a basketball term...I sound like Bill Walton now.

Quit picking on Bill Walton. He is the only reason our Portland Jailblazers have a Championship banner hanging from the Rose Garden rafters ! :lolBIG:
