Few questions for experienced scalpers. -

How many outs do you have, and how often can you find scalps? pretty much every day?

Just straight up scalps, not scalping overnight lines. I'm curious what kind of returns the best people out there can get.

You can get by with 5 or 6 out if they include Pinny, Mansion, SIA, Matchbook.

Find them pretty much every day, sometimes they last 2-3 days or longer in football.

Generally you rarely find better than +100/+110 (or equivalent) which is a 2.4% return if you have no opinion and take the money irrespective of who wins the game.

I don't get too exicited if I can't get a 5 cent difference unless a side is also involved. For example last week Carolina -1, +118 (2% fee on wins) was available at Matchbook while Tampa +1.5, -110 was widely available, so a Carolina win by 1 would give a push and a win, while you get about 1.3% return with any other result.

You better have a huge, and I mean super huge bankroll if you are going to scalp exclusivly. Don't worry about getting too many outs, focus on opinionated outs or slow mover outs.

Why would you need a huge bankroll if it's all about the percentages? I am just getting my feet wet in scalping and certainly not putting big dollar amounts in play but it's a decent risk free return that I can make 4-5 times a week.

You need to have huge money at all of your outs or you will miss a lot of scalps. Moving money around is a m f.

Exchanges are ripe for scalps. Matchbook, Mansion and Betfair.

Yep. Matchbook's live betting is a great scalping opportunity.

I understand what you're saying. It does make for an accounting nightmare.

I don't gamble for a living...

But I find what helps if put any open speculative scalps in a different color on your spreadsheet. When I fill them I put them in black.

While moving the money around is a pain in the ass if you scalp right it can include huge returns, and risk free at that.

The trick is being selective and as someone has already alluded to, using the exchanges.

I have a website that will launch in the next month that will include a how to manual on arbitrage and scalping.

Bottomline is you need to be able to move your money around with little or no fees. I lose a lot of outs because of that. If I am getting charged 50 bux or more a whack to deposit or withdraw my money it isn't worth it. Because when you move money from one to another you are paying TWICE. Most places do have free deposits or will pay fees up to a certain amount, but it is a pain in the ass keeping them all straight so you make sure they all get taken care of.

Also it is about voulme. If you want to make enough money to actually make a diference you need to make sure you have enough money around to get them at themost you can get. (especially if they are simultaneous) But those are very few and far between. Most of the time you have to take a lead somewhere and hope it moves. That requires a little more money and a little more skill. You miss a couple moves, either going the wrong way or by not moving, that but back (at a loss on vig) will eat you alive as well.

But when you are amking pennies on the dollar you need to cut a lot of angles, that eliminates alot of places from even being considered as outs when you are scalping and buying around numbers.

look at prop wagers.

As stated, its not the number of outs, but finding ones with some opinionated (or slow) lines.

The majority of sports on "minor" events will have Pinnacle on one side. It's worth keeping a decent bankroll there, and making sure you use the 1 free withdrawal per month appropriately.

Taking about moving money around I'll do it and pay myself a fraction of 1% if I have a very strong opinion on a game.
