I am curious to know if anyone has ever been ripped off from a company that accepts Pay Pal payments? I sent $10 via Pay Pal for a product (was supposed to be emailed to me) but never got it. The only way to reach the company is via email which I have tried to no avail...

I have yet to contact Pay Pal, but was curious if anyone has had anything like this happen to them and if Pay Pal helps you. Of course we are talking $10, but I paid, I want it. Probably my fault for not really looking into the company, but I would think PP offers some kind of security against people they allow to have merchant accounts, no?

Thanks for your replies....

i never deal with any company which doesn't have a callcenter for customer service, to speak with someone LIVE... unless is a trustable company,... etc. microsoft, cnet, microwarehouse, tigerdirect etc...
also, if you get on the phone, get legal paperwork...

but dealing with an unknown automated website, is worst than gambling...
i think paypal has a policy for those cases, since they're anti-scam, try to get in hold with them, im not sure if it works like the credit card companies by charge backs, or, in the worst case escenario, works like credit card by western union, once is collected, say goodbye to your money...

good luck.

They have a mediation process. Basically, they ask the seller for proof that they sent you whatever it was you bought. If they don't have it, then paypal takes the money from their paypal account and puts it in yours. Problem is, if there's no money in their paypal account, you don't get anything.
