A big USF fan, but ahead of all those teams?

Georgia?

Actually, there is a chance USF could meet Georgia in a bowl game.

If so, don't think Georgia would be the underdog.......:>Grin>

Despite his claims otherwise, his poll relies way too much on margin of victory. I remember in '89 his poll had that run-it-up-on-weak-teams Houston squad number one until they lost to a half-decent team.

USF head coach, Jim Leavitt, another of the Hayden Fry disciple tree now doing great as head coach at their respective team. Leavitt has built this program from the ground up. Started at I-AA and got it to I-A status in just 5 years and now is looking for a bowl game from the Big East conference. Truly remarkable feat he is accomplishing down there.

Spoke highly of Coach Leavitt back in 05 here....now has the 2nd best team in the state of Florida and his team on the national map. Truly remarkable what he has done with this program from the ground up!:aktion033

sigh, not even worth replying to someone who keeps bumping his own posts from '05. But, I will post just to show you that we all know USF, UCF and even FAU will all be good teams.. why? It's simple... They are some of the biggest schools in america. The university of South Florida is the third largest in the state of Florida, with a total enrollment of 44,891 for the 2007 academic year.[7] USF is currently ranked ninth in the country in terms of enrolled students. The University of Central Florida (commonly referred to as UCF) is a university located in Orlando, Florida. UCF is the largest undergraduate school in the state of Florida, the second largest school-including graduate programs, and is the sixth-largest university in the nation. UCF has 48,000 undergraduate students. FAU has about 26,000 students http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_largest_United_States_universities_by_enrollment

The bigger you school is the higher you chance of being able to bring more athletes to those schools. The larger the enrollment, the more $ that it brings is, the more alumni that donate and thus the facilities get bigger and better, it's simple economics 101. I don't care that you don't like my opinions, but it's interesting how people keep bashing people instead of posting opinions that can be analyzed.

When do you predict MIAMI DADE will compete in a bowl game, as they are the secondest largest school in the country with 57,000+ students??

Are they your FINAL FOUR sleeper as well?

I spoke about schools getting better over time, read the posts and stop trying to pick an argument when there isn't one.

Went from no program to Top 10 program in 10 years. Big win at home tonight for USF Bulls and Coach Leavitt. What a remarkable job he has done here. Won't see this happening too often in sports.
