I guess want to know for the so called bigger bettors, how they got to their level of betting? Just curious where guys got their money for their bankroll. I get mine from yearly tax return(mileage, write offs = pretty hefty return). Did you guys just build up from betting, cash out 401k, loans, credit cards, saved. Not trying to be to personal but am doing fairly well for my self at 34. But trying to figure out these guys my age supposedly are betting $1,000 a game at 1% of br that's a $100,000 br. Mostly curious for guys with over $30,000 br. Is this your life savings? How long this took to acquire? Have their ever lost it all? Any info on this would be intersesting to read?

I had built up a very nice bankroll over the last 5 years with only $1000 bucks startup. The unfortunate thing is I had to withdrawl all my money after the 2 hurricanes that hit Louisiana because of all the expenses that I was incurring and the fact that I went 6 weeks without working. I started out with $50 dollar bets and worked my way up. When I pulled all my money out I had my bankroll up to the point of making $500 wagers on regular plays and even as high as $1500 for special games without even having to risk 5% of my bankroll.

The sad thing is I now have to start over from scratch with a new bankroll again. Its hard starting from the bottem again making $50-$200 plays. But I have to remember how I got to where I was before Katrina and Rita. Patience is the only way build yourself up from a short bankroll.

I would never suggest using life savings or 401K.

chop, Sorry to hear that. Never would cash out 401k either. But I know it would build my BR substanially. Built it up the right way, by winning, that great.
