I haven't kept exact figures but the NFL favorites are killing the teasers. Last weekend I think all but 2 favorites covered the teaser. The books have noticed and their response has been to kick out the numbers on the favorites.

Pinnacle and 5Dimes have been shading the favorites. I posted a few times last year about this.

For example, Pinnacle is quoting Dallas -9 +108 on the game. That means if you want to tease Dallas you are laying 3 in a 6 pointer instead of 2 (the line is really 8 points). 5Dimes is doing this on a lot of the games every week.

It is also getting harder to find books that offer 6 point nfl teasers at even money (WSEX). Pinnacle now charges -140 on their 4 team 13 pointer.

Pinnacle's payouts on NFL teasers are now a joke.

Who said teasers are for suckers?

Who said teasers are for suckers?

Does that mean that teasing the dogs would be profitable now?

Teasers are an unusual bet since the book can never determine their theoretical hold on these bets. Usually they do well and "teasers are for suckers". However this season they have not been doing so well. For example the Monday night game Cowboys 21 Eagles 20 was a winner for all 4 possible 6 point teasers. Thus the books lost on all their teaser action on Monday.

If teasers are for suckers why are the books tightening up the payoffs. A few years ago people were saying that the books are offering better odds on teasers they are trying to get people to play them. Now they are offering worse odds on them.

Who is the clown who wrote teasers are for suckers? REALLY.

How come since the beginning of this football season I have done only 2 and 3 team teasers and I have turned $300 into almost $4000 as of today. I have been withdrawing $1000 checks almost every 2 weeks.

If you think a team is going to win then why not tease them down. This is especially the case in the NFL when most games are close. Depending on the point spread the teaser may pay better than a moneyline parlay. But I am smart enough to do the math.

So who does that make the SUCKER, YOU SUCKER!!!!

Tell me where your bankroll is after a few seasons of teasers, anyone can win short term, doesn't mean you've got an edge.

Hey Bozo the Clown,

I have used the same strategy for three years in a row and I made $7600 last year and $9100 the year before.

So you are clueless. You are really a clown.

I wil lay -120 that if you go back and look you would have made MORE money beting those same tickets as PARLAYS rather than teasers. If you were really winning money doing them, then you were hiting enough WITHOUT the extra points to more than make up for a few losing tickets at the ncreased pay outs.

Been playing teasers since mid 70''s (castaways). The "sharps" don't play them and so be it. Pinnacle has raised 13 pters to 140 for a reason. Check the results year in year out. The above mentioned strip hotel removed them at one point and then was imploded later. Is it tough to pick 2 winners with a 6/6.5/7 point cushion, or 3 winners with a 10 point cushion, or 4 with a 13 point cushion? Not in my opinion. The plus now is totals can be included. SF-Chicago last weekend was free money with the weather situation. Just my "dull" two cents worth.

No, parlaying would not pay nearly as much as teasing the picks. If you don't think teasers are good bets don't play them but I am tired of hearing all the "wiseguys" saying they are for suckers.

I think betting NFL against the spread is more for suckers than betting teasers. Most NFL games come down to 1 or 2 plays and are very played tight. If a team gets up my more than a touchdown you can almost count on a backdown cover by the other team.

Kenny, think before you post. 3 team parlays pay 6-1. 3 team (6 pt)teasers pay or paid +180 ( I think I am not a tesaer guy) That is 70% less. So if you hit 100 teasers you only need to hit 30 parlays to make the same amount. 31 and you make more money. If you are plrlaying off the board it might even take fewer, you surely cannot tease off the board.

I am neither a pro(for) teaser or a pro(for) parlay guy. I just know that if you are playing teasers, enough of them would have won WITHOUT teasing to make them more valuable.

EDIT, actually I just looked at your chart, they now pay +160, do that means you only need to hit 27 parlays to makemor money (26.66666) to break even.
