If so, what kind of fish do you keep? How big the tank? Any pics?

75 gallon fresh water tropical. I like lots of live plants. The fish aren't as pretty as salt but I like a live planted aquarium. It's great. tulsa

55 Gallon freshwater aquarium.

I bought a bunch of baby angelfish and have just been watching 'em grow up. I have an older angelfish, that just died...:( but she was going on 6 years, so I guess it was high time.

Dude I know went insane with the aquairium. Spent thousands of dollars, maybe 10's of thousands. He had all kinds of crap but his prize possesion was little octupus'. Said they can fit into the tightest little spots and they are so smart you can teach them tricks. Apparantly you have to buy lots of crap so they don't get bored...if they get bored they die.

Not lately, but have had many over the years. Last one was 60 gallon salt water with reef corral and some nice, colorful fish. Not as tough as advertised!

OK>>>>>COOLAGE!! do you have pics? What are Texas Cichlids? Does the turtle have to have some rocks to get out on above the water? Do you still keep a cover on but the water level low or what? I am interested in this one... tulsa

Digital camera sent back to Sony in Texas for a recall about a week ago, sorry.

Texas Cichlids are silver/grayish with small dots:

I keep the lid on and the water just about an inch lower than I would without a turtle. He is light green with webbed feet and a good swimmer. He swims to the top and pokes his nostrils just above the waterline, takes a breath and swims around until he parks on the gravel for a while.

That sounds like a neat idea. Did you buy the turtle or catch him somewhere? tulsa

Bought him Tulsa. The softshell turtles are a little more animated and show more personality than the freshwater hard shell ones.
