The Pinny lean has been discussed many times on the forums. From personal experience, follow it and you will get burned.

When Pinny offers + money on a side (and even more often on a total) they are trying to attract bettors to the + money side. This means they are "leaning" to the other side, the - money.

If you compare Pinny to other books, for this Montana game others were at -2.5 -110.

I don't know what if any clue this has to the actual ATS winner. Anyone tracking that?

If they do this in the last 5-6 minutes before tip off its just that they are trying to get some equal action to balance their position and lock in a small profit on the game THEY ARE not taking a position. Be careful of blindly playing a late Pinny lean (see that a ton on half time lines). The right side (ie overlay) is often the +105 if its just before game time time time!! Grab a bunch of those and its like a free 5%.

If they had a lean all day or for a couple hours then you know what to do. find the best number at another sportsbook and play on the pinny lean!!!

Why?

Have found the EXACT opposite to be true in the past 3+ years with well OVER 1,000 games as a model.

I think people try to read too much into the Pinny lines; I don't think they're trying to send a message about who will win. When their line is -130, +120 and BoDog is -110,-110 all Pinny is saying is if you like the favorite go to BoDog, we have all we want on the fav and now we're trying to attract underdog +120 money.

Like the Godfather, Pinny makes their millions a $ at a time (not that they don't occasionally have an opinion). So I think, all Pinny is saying is shop around if you don't like our line.
