A huge slate on any particular given day is a HUGE advantage to the sophisticated sportsbettors with a variety of outs.

However, for the UNdisciplined bettor, it can be devastating.

TODAY is a beautiful day!!

I think this is why college sports are the easiest to beat for a lot of players.

Theres no way LVSC can have their head 100% in it for everything on the board every single day.

Just too many games.

Oh how I wish that I had a passion for college basketball as I do college football.

:sad3: :sad3: :sad3:

For wiseguys that TRULLY LOVE this sport, it is a GOLDMINE, just for the simple reason you just stated.

College basketball has great fan energy as you know doubt have seen on televison. College football as well. The pro games not as much. I think if you started watching some of the games on television throughout the week and on the weekends, you may really begin to enjoy it. As for betting, it does present some excellent opportunities. Made my first two plays last night in the Cancer Classic in Madison Square Garden and just sat back and enjoyed. If you want to watch a game tonight, I would highly recommend the Cancer Classic Championship between Florida and Syracuse on ESPN at 9:00 EST following the runner-up game.

Lastly, I know you like to read. May I suggest a very good read on college hoops called "The Odds". It's a story about the gambling on college hoops out of Las Vegas before offshore was prevalent.

why do people think that a huge schedule benefits the gamblers and is a disadvantage to the books? the books can't be sharp enough to make good lines but the players are sharp enough to survey the board and pick the winners? the books spend all their time doing this and most gamblers spend a few hours a week evaluating the games.

Thanks OMT!

Please note, do not DISLIKE CBB, just not in my top five passionate wise.

Was a diehard IOWA fan from 1970-84..........not near that way currently.

College hoops is great stuff. Preseason tournaments. Regular season big games every week. Conference tournaments and March Madness. Just can't ask for more. I know Fish can get an interest. Just watch for awhile and it is addictive. I'd rather bet on college sports then pro sports anyday of the week.

What hurts me is that I am so wrapped up into the NHL and football..............two sports that I like much more.

Again, do not dislike CBB, just not as passionate towards as two mentioned above.

But perhaps more so this year, as BOTH IOWA and NORTHERN IOWA are legit Top 20 ballclubs!!

What a slate, but so many unknowns, who the hell can say with any certainty how accurate the line is between apalachian st and Arkansas st, that shit is damn near impossible in their first games.

Idaho +28 does look good to me, Gonzaga's over rated index seems to go higher every year, funny how they haven't won JACK SHIT since anyone figured out they have a decent program.

For those that believe in using the 3rd game in four night, 4 games in 5 nights go against theory, here are the teams for tonight!

Pacers
Heat
Knicks
Pistons
Kings
Bulls

Understand. I have absolutely no interest in hockey. Very little in soccer as well except the World Cup. Just can't seem keep my attention. Football, basketball, baseball, golf, and horse racing as well as a few major events from time to time. That's it for me.

Not sure what overnights are at most places, or for other people, but my overnights suck now, even at Pinny (where they are 500),and they go up in increments (1K at midnight or so my time), then at 9 AM or so(noon East time) my time they reach 3K.They still haven't gone to 5k yet.

So, it is VERY hard to get a significant amount down to take advantage of anything you might see. By the time the limets increase, the lines are shot to hell. Because basically you only see something nice at one book, so trying to bet it at multiple outs isn't really an option since the line could change at the palce you bet it and still be better.

Obviously btting a lot or being able to bet a lot doesn't make one "sharp", bt the ablityto take a decentl ead, and having an option to get a buy back at a nice split is. When you get handcuffed by low limits it just takes a lot out of it.

Agreed. Even with the Internet, it is very difficult to follow/research some of these teams.

IUPUI, Winthrop, Jaxville St, Kennesaw St. No clue. For all I know, their leading scorers played Xbox all summer, ate lots of McDonald's, and gained 20 pounds.

Hard to get a feel for some of these teams until January.

I feel the bettor has the advantage if they pick just a few teams and really get to notice the trends of that team. Perhaps a team plays slowly and really guns it in the 2nd half (like San Antonio Spurs) or perhaps a team typically scores a lot in the 1st half and slows it down in the 2nd.

The linesmakers can't possibly get to know all the ins-and-outs of a team that a fan does if that fan doesn't get spread too thin. This has been working for me for Phoenix Suns 2nd-half totals. If a fan took interest in a lesser-known college team that fan would have the advantage over the linesmakers.
