There was a thing on TV about it the other night
talk about how most boxers come from nothing/poor places
They have little education
and when you go from nothing to millions, it's easy to not know what money is
i always remember that guy giving a good fight and was always a good interview,....hate to see when they start with nothing and end up with nothing,....especially all the years and fights at the top level.
I met Vinny at an andrew dice clay concert,,, lol,, he came with the HOTTEST chica, and a 7 foot tall body guard,,, lol kindof funny when you saw Vinny who is 5.5 with a 5-10 broad, and a 7 foot B.G.,,,
he was sooo dam cool to me and my girl that night,,,
this was 7 years ago,,, right in the middle of 1 of his comebacks,,
sat next to vinny at foxwoods in a class a restrunt! he is a funny and classy guy! he told me that my wife was hot lol then he wanted a pic with her. He bought us a bottle of champane and signed a book for my son! I t is too bad, but i will say i saw him at foxwoods more than once and he was always shooting craps in the high limit area! Life is hard when you come from working class to the wealthy! good luck vinny
I grew up in RI and was a huge Pazienza fan as a kid. I remember when he broke his neck and had to wear that halo with bolts into his skull. I thought he walked on water.
pazienza came from a typical middle class italian working family similar to a ray mancini. not as poor as many of the mexican and black kids in the sport. years ago was a not a bad looking kid but stayed in the ring to long and got thay gargoyle look from too many punches. same thing is happening to arturro gatti
I think it's been obvious for some time that Vinny has been in bad financial shape. He dragged out his fight career as long as he could. He auctions personal items off for sale. He is always at Foxwoods and who knows how much he's lost there over the years.
Overall, I've always been a Paz fan. I even attended his "final" fight at Foxwoods last year - many celebrities there supporting him including Pete Rose, Frank Stallone, Furio from the Sopranos, Roberto Duran in his corner. He's always tried to live a big high-roller lifestyle, always lots of girls around him and everything. But when the cash is gone, it's gone. Unfortunate but he'll suffer the same way a lot of boxers and sports celebrities have.
