If you are reading this, online gambling will not be regulated in your life time.

But for christ sakes, PARENTS! take control of your kids, is it really the site operators responsiblity to "baby sit" your kid with your credit card????? i mean, come the fuck on, i could have never got my dad's credit card, and if i did, id have gotten my ass fucking beat if i did. that just shows you, disapline these days dont exisit.

let us have somthing, for god sakes, if i want to bet cincy at +6 in my undies, and they fucking lose(cough, cough) thats my own problem, not the gov. to tell me what to do:finger:

I think it will eventually after the government realizes how much loot they are missing out on.

I just wish the quality (of course this is completely subjective) of the 3 or 4 sites that were shown.........was a little bit higher

Of course you could deem them "Average" in some ways...........but its definitively what I would recommend "john doe" to try.........if its their first time.........

That was a GREAT report. they made Kyl look like a moron. The guys from paradise poker and Mirage sounded much more practical and CBS made them seem like the "Good guys" while Kyl looked like the cluless congressmen who just didnt get it.

Basically, the show advocated regulation. I am not for or against it. But as long as the show wasn't pushing a ban on internet gambling i was happy.

BB, I totally agree. If I ever even tought about taking my parents credit cards when I was younger, I would have been put through a friggin wall. Kids need to be disciplined like we were in the old days. There were many things I never did when I was a kid because of pure fear that my dad would beat my ass. Kids these days have no fear of repercussions.

besides and anyone that knows how the whole thing really works, should your kid do something like that..........it would be dealt with one way or the other (which normally means.....the operator losses)

someone quoted what Kyl said (on a different thread) and basically the poster said "I am not sure if it was tobacco or alcohol that they were talking about" and he is dead right........

Personally, I thought that it was a pretty solid report. Nigel has some very good points and they make the US govt squirm trying to come up with legit answers.

Terrible piece by a reporter, who did not know what she was talking about.

When given 5 minutes to discuss such a vast subject matter (including sports, poker and casino gambling) they did a good job making online gambling look pretty good. THey could have showed more stories about people going broke or losing their money to fradulent sites. Instead they made the paradise poker guy look pretty damn reasonable.

If any of you were looking for a report encouraging online gambling you shouldn't have even turned the TV on tonight.

i wasnt expecting much on this report,...i mean its like every once in awhile someone writes a book on gambling, they need to promote or they drudge up some old story,...like it is brand shiny new,.............i do think they raise some points/issues,...but again it wasnt earthshattering,..............i really wonder though if the ignorant goverment think about the money that could be put in thier pockets,....oops i mean generated,.....it also makes you wonder about the billions in internet sales on auctions,................i think the goverment looses a ton,...thats just my opinion though:suomi:

Who cares, if they wanted to do a report on gambling go to the poker rooms in every city accross the country and show all theguys who get their checks on the 3rd and are broke by the 4th.

Poker has broken more people than sports betting could dream about.

I don't see why everyone is so down on it. If nothing else, it reinforced the futility of the US's efforts to control something that is out of their jurisdiction (and also how much money they are losing by not running it)

yeah i agree ttinco,....well sorta,....totally see what you mean by the money and what the us is missing out on from getting thier mits on this hobby,....i call it a hobby because i guess it sounds ok,....some people collect stamps,...some people invest in the stock markets,....others gamble,..........well its a subject that,.....as far as i was brought up,...its not good to gamble,..therefore if you dont do it,...you shouldnt talk about it,etc,.............why one of the reasones i like the rx,...hey atleast if we disagree,...atleast we are all doing the same thing,.........anyhow getting back to the article on 60 minutes,....i just didnt feel there was that much new stuff included in it that i see every 6 to 12 months,....but with that said there are good points raised because where is the internet going and where is internet gambling going?,...you know,....there not dissapearing and the goverment is missing out on a fortune if they keep letting it go,....at some point you would think they would start to seriously consider it.
