Hitman, how did you know it was a virus? Was it picked up by your virus scanner?

(I'm pissed because I'm having to block all Zip files at the office because TrendMicro apparently hasn't identified it......and it's been out ALL afternoon).

TT:

It was posted across the street. The General started a thread about it, and not 5 minutes later, I got the same email in my box. His was from the CIA and mine was from the FBI. I thought it was some kind of blackmail scam, but someone knew it was a virus and posted information proving it.

Thanks for the heads up guys. I haven't received one yet but will be on the lookout. I have my firewall up and Norton Professional virus updated. Anybody know if this virus can get through that protection? I do have high speed cable so I am connected at all times.

Trend finally updated, Symantec has for a little while now. If you do a manual update, your okay.

(or just don't open the zip file attachment)

I have about 20 emails from today in my junk folder with these zip attachments. About 5 of them are the cia email, but there are others- ie. mail delivery failed, your password, registration confirmed- point being, don't open any zip attachments from unknowns. The cia one mentioned in this thread is only one of many containing the virus.
