Lets say you won $11,000 worth of matchplay bets and you could break it up into any number of bets you desire.

Here's one good way to use it.

Play all 8 ways on a 3-teamer ( with half-point lines)

$1375 to win $8250 on each. One must hit yielding $8250 !

If you broke the $11,000 into 100 plays of 110 to win 100, and went an incredible 82-18, you're 82 winners would pay $100 each for a total of $8200.

I can't pick 82%, can you ?

If book won't allow these bets, you could achieve similar results by even randomly picking 3-teamers, just bet many small 3-teamers, for example 500 3-teamers at $22 each, you'll hit about 12.5 % of them. For example 62 of the 500 hit for $132 each, yieding $8184.

Do not straight bet with match play, even worse is betting ML favorites.

Now that the Matchplay is done, you can play normally to meet any needed rollovers.

Thanks for taking the time and sharing this with posters DOUG

As mentioned, do not use your matchplay on a ML favorite!

In fact, doing just the opposite(ML DOG), is a great option for a players free matchplay(scalping with the ML favorite at another shop being a possible viable option).

Fish: I hate to see people use matchplay poorly ! Hopefully the 15/ 30 k winner uses his wisely.

No

Take a BIG DOG with each and scalp with a BIG FAV at another book.

Example---Say you have a $300 freeplay..............

Bet the $300 on a +300 ML dog......which will have one risking $0 to win $900.

Then try and find as close -300 or better line on the fav at another shop and wager approximently HALF the amount of the win figire of the freeplay......$450 to win $150 at -300 say.

Now you have put yourself in a position to either win $450 or $150............AT THE VERY WORST.

THIS IS ONLY ONE possible option to take advantage of a freeplay.

The very best is to use it on something you'd have bet anyway ! That's not practical for the guy that won the 15/ 30 k though !

By doing this, you have turned a 50% matchplay into essentially a 25% CASH BONUS or a 75% CASH BONUS.

One can vary the amounts bet on the favorite to adjust the win percantages to their liking.

Understand, the percentages will vary depending on the quality of the scalp.

The above example is for a BREAKEVEN SCALP..........-300/+300.

Fish - why do you say to bet the whole amount on the dog w/ the freeplay but only bet half on the scalp at the other book? I usually bet the whole amount on the ML fav on the scalp....just curious as to your reasoning...

There are a few factors that determines how much I wager on the FAV at the other book, a couple and not limited to......

1. What side I favor in the game.

2. Of the two books, which one would I like to win/lose at to best fit my circumstances.

In your example, you would be risking 0 to win 900 on the DOG matchplay and 900 to win 300 on the favorite, thus putting you in a position of.....

DOG WINS---EVEN
FAV WINS---+$300

In my example.......

DOG WINS.....$450
FAV WINS......$150

In the eye of the beholder of what they believe to be better.

Also, taking my #2 rule into effect above, what if we desired to be OUT of the MATCHPLAY book. In your scenario, you are stuck in the MATCHPLAY book(with more money there now and NO profit), whereas in my scenario at least we are up a very nice sum of $450 in the book we do not want to be with long.

Again, alot of factors come into play and each individual must play what they are confortable with.

Thanks for the info Fish....I think betting 1/2 is smarter than all at once....last time i tried this I won the Bonus Play bet and lost at my regular shop then I was stuck with having to wager enough times to meet the rollover which is a pain. I ended up withdrawing anyway and losing the bonus. I think I may give this a try next time

Whatever avenue you select, hope it all works out for the very best!

Personally, I like to complete my rollover before touching the freeplay. Of course it's always come with a deposit and have never won a humoungous freeplay.

What's the advantage to that ?

Is there a reason to use this method if you were going to make the same bets with your own money if you didn't have the freeplay?

No advantage, just a warm fuzzy feeling that you have completed the rollover, have a freeplay to go, and can withdraw your balance.
